Well, let me tell you, back in the day, them 1920 desserts, they was somethin’ else. We didn’t have all them fancy things folks got now. But we made do, and we made some mighty fine sweets, I tell ya what. The 1920 desserts are really good.

I remember, like it was yesterday, the smell of them fruit jellies and mousses. Oh, they was a treat! And we made a lot of pies. My favorite was butterscotch pie. Pumpkin pie or cherry pie is also good. And lemon meringue pie, that was another good one. We used what we had, you know? And rhubarb pie, and blackberry pie, they was all good eatin’.

Now, them Cadbury Flake, they started back in 1920. Can you believe that? They was from the UK, or so I heard. We sure did love ’em. They was a treat, that’s for sure. You could just take a bite, and it would melt in your mouth. 1920 desserts are very famous.

And you know, the Baby Ruth bar, that came out in 1920 too. And Wonder Bread, same year! Lordy, them was good times. We didn’t have much, but we had good food. And the Popsicles, they came a little later, in 1924. Them was a godsend on a hot summer day. When you talk about 1920 desserts, you can’t miss them.

We used to make this thing called Persimmon Pudding. It was sweet and sticky and oh so good. And Charlotte Russe, that was another fancy one. We didn’t make it often, but when we did, it was a special occasion. Also, Chocolate bread pudding is so delicious. We didn’t waste nothin’, you see. We’d use up stale bread and make a pudding out of it. Them 1920 desserts are really something.

Them flapper dresses and suits, they might be what folks remember about the 1920s, but for me, it’s the food. We didn’t call it “culinary artistry” back then. We just called it cookin’. But lookin’ back, I guess it was somethin’ special. We made some mighty fine desserts, that’s for sure.

And that Sugar Daddy candy, that’s been around forever, it seems like. Simple, but good. Just like most things back then. It is also one of the 1920 desserts. And you know, people say that food brings back memories. I reckon that’s true. When I think about them old-fashioned desserts, I think about family and friends and good times.

We used to make this Old-Fashioned Fried Steak, French style, they called it. It wasn’t really a dessert, but we ate it after supper sometimes. It’s one of the 1920 desserts. It was simple, just fried steak, but it was good. We’d eat it with gravy and mashed potatoes. Oh, it was good eatin’.

These old recipes, they’ve been around for a long time. They call ’em “time-honored treats” now. Back then, we just called ’em good. Rich chocolate cakes and fruit tarts, we made ’em all. They might seem simple compared to what folks make now, but they was made with love, and that’s what matters.

I remember we used to gather ’round the table, the whole family, and eat these desserts. We’d laugh and talk and just enjoy each other’s company. That’s what I miss most about them old days. The food was good, but it was the people that made it special. It’s very important to know about 1920 desserts.

So, next time you see one of them old-fashioned desserts, like a butterscotch pie or a piece of chocolate cake, take a bite and think about the folks who made ’em back in the 1920s. They didn’t have much, but they made the best of what they had. And they made some mighty fine desserts, that’s for sure. These are all about 1920 desserts. You just can’t beat ’em, I tell ya. They just don’t make ’em like they used to.
