My Hunt for Windmill Beverages
Okay, so the other day, I got this idea stuck in my head. I needed to find these windmill beverages I’d heard someone talking about. Don’t ask me why, sometimes you just get a craving or curiosity hits, you know? So, first thing I did, like anyone else, I grabbed my phone.
Typed in the obvious: “windmill beverages near me”. Hit search.
Got back a bunch of results, mostly the big supermarkets and maybe a few gas stations popping up on the map. But I had a feeling this wasn’t something you’d find just anywhere, seemed a bit more niche, maybe? I scrolled through the first few hits, didn’t see anything promising, just generic “beverage store” listings.
So, I tried changing it up a bit. Searched for things like “where to buy windmill drinks” and even tried adding my town’s name specifically. Still kinda the same results. Lots of places that sell drinks, but no clear sign they had this specific brand.
I started looking at the actual websites for a couple of the bigger local grocery stores. Went to their online product search. Typed in “windmill”. Nothing. Okay, maybe they just don’t list everything online. Fair enough.
Then I thought about smaller places. There’s that specialty food market a town over, and a couple of dedicated beverage warehouses further out. Started checking their websites too. One of them had a pretty decent online inventory list.
- Checked the soda aisle section. Nope.
- Checked the juice section. Nope.
- Checked the ‘specialty drinks’ or ‘imported’ section. Still nothing.
Getting a bit annoyed now. Why’s it gotta be so hard? Considered just giving up. But no, I was committed at this point. Stubborn, I guess.
Decided to try calling. Found the number for that ‘Super Beverage Warehouse’ place I mentioned. Figured it was my best shot. Called them up.
Asked the person who answered, “Hey, do you guys happen to stock windmill beverages?” Had to repeat the name. He put me on hold for a minute. Came back, “Yeah, looks like we got a couple of flavors in aisle 7.” Success!
Finally! Felt like I’d cracked some kind of code. It wasn’t showing up online, but they had it.
So, I drove over there later that day. Went straight to aisle 7. And there they were. Grabbed a few.
Took way more effort than just popping ‘windmill beverages near me’ into a search bar and getting a perfect answer instantly. Sometimes you still gotta do a little extra digging, maybe even make an actual phone call. Weird, right?
