Okay, so yesterday I was craving some seriously good Thai food. Like, the real deal. I remembered seeing a place while driving down Roosevelt Way in Seattle – “Amazing Thai Cuisine” at 5210 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105. The name alone was enough to make me pull over next time I was in the area.

And yesterday was the day! I found parking (a freaking miracle on Roosevelt), walked in, and immediately got hit with that awesome smell of lemongrass, ginger, and chilies. It smelled legit.

The place itself is pretty small, nothing fancy. A few tables, some Thai decorations, but it felt homey, you know? I grabbed a menu and started scanning. They had all the usual suspects: Pad Thai, Green Curry, Tom Yum soup. But they also had some stuff I hadn’t seen before, which is always a good sign.

The Decision-Making Process:

  • First, I was STARVING. So I needed something quick-ish.
  • Second, I wanted something spicy. Like, forehead-sweat spicy.
  • Third, I always try something new at a Thai place if I can.

I ended up going with the “Drunken Noodles” (Pad Kee Mao). The menu said it had wide rice noodles, basil, veggies, and a “spicy sauce.” Sounded promising!

I also ordered some spring rolls to start, because, well, spring rolls are always a good idea, right? They were crispy and fresh, with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. No complaints there.

Then the Drunken Noodles came. HUGE portion. Seriously, enough for two people. It looked amazing – the noodles were perfectly cooked, the veggies were crisp-tender, and the sauce was a vibrant reddish-brown. I took a bite… BAM! The spice hit me right away. Not overpowering, but definitely a good kick. The flavor was complex and savory, with a hint of sweetness. The basil added a nice freshness. I was in heaven.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Flavor: A+ Seriously delicious. The perfect balance of spicy, savory, and sweet.
  • Spice Level: Solid B+. It had a good kick, but I could have handled a little more heat. I’ll ask them to crank it up next time.
  • Portion Size: A++ Massive. I took half of it home and had it for lunch today.
  • Price: Very reasonable. Around $15 for the noodles and spring rolls.

Honestly, “Amazing Thai Cuisine” lived up to its name. It’s definitely going on my regular rotation. If you’re in the Roosevelt area and craving Thai, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Just remember to specify your spice level – unless you like it mild, then you’re all set.

Final Thoughts

I’m already planning my next visit. I’m thinking maybe the Green Curry or the Tom Yum soup. Or maybe I’ll just get the Drunken Noodles again. They were THAT good.
