My Run-In with the Bawarchi Menu
Okay, so we had this family get-together planned a few weeks back. Nobody wanted to cook for the whole crowd, obviously. Someone threw out the idea of getting Indian food, and Bawarchi’s name came up. I vaguely remembered eating there ages ago. So, naturally, I got tasked with sorting out the food order. That meant I had to dive into their menu first.

Didn’t feel like driving down there just to grab a paper copy. Who does that anymore? I just pulled out my phone and looked it up online. Found their website, or maybe it was one of those delivery sites, can’t remember exactly. Point is, the menu popped right up. Looked pretty extensive right from the start.
Figuring Out the Food
Man, that menu had a lot going on. Appetizers, soups, tandoori stuff, chicken, lamb, goat, seafood, vegetarian dishes, biryanis, breads, desserts… the whole nine yards. I started scrolling. Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming at first. So many curries, so many different names. I recognized some classics, like Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala. Samosas were a definite must-have for starters.
Then I got to the main dishes. Needed a mix, you know? Some meat, some veggie. Had to think about who likes what. My uncle loves spicy food, but my aunt can’t handle much heat at all. So, I was looking for variety.
- Chicken Tikka Masala seemed like a safe bet for the less adventurous folks.
- Maybe a Lamb Vindaloo for the spice challenge? Put that on the maybe list.
- Needed solid vegetarian options. Paneer Makhani or Saag Paneer usually works.
- Biryani! Definitely needed a big biryani. Veggie or Chicken? Decided on Vegetable Biryani to keep it simple.
- And bread, of course. Garlic Naan, Plain Naan. Lots of it.
I spent a good chunk of time just weighing the options. Had to text my cousins real quick to see if they had any strong preferences. Got some vague answers back, mostly “sounds good”. Typical.

Placing the Order
Alright, after maybe 20 minutes of back-and-forth in my own head and a few texts, I finalized the list. Went with:
- Vegetable Samosas
- Chicken Tikka Masala
- Lamb Vindaloo (decided to go for it!)
- Paneer Butter Masala
- Dal Makhani (can’t go wrong with lentils)
- Vegetable Biryani
- Plain Rice
- Garlic Naan
- Plain Naan
Felt like a decent spread to cover different tastes and spice levels. Found their phone number and gave them a call. Read out my order item by item. The person on the other end was pretty efficient, confirmed everything, gave me the total cost, and told me when it would be ready for pickup. Simple enough process.
The Result
Later that day, I drove over and picked up the food. Huge bags, smelled incredible in the car. Got it home, laid it all out. Everyone dug in. The food was pretty solid, I have to say. The Vindaloo packed a punch, just like expected. The Tikka Masala and Paneer were crowd-pleasers. Biryani was good, naan was fresh. Overall, the menu delivered what it promised. It offered enough variety to piece together a meal for a diverse group, even if it took a bit of effort to choose. Having it accessible online made the first step easy, at least. The whole practice of choosing and ordering worked out just fine. Job done, family fed. Might even use them again.
