California Kitchen Spinach Pizza: A Healthy and Tasty Choice

Alright, so today I’m gonna share my California Kitchen Spinach Pizza adventure. I’ve been seeing this pizza all over the place, and figured, “Hey, I can do that!” Turns out, it was way easier than I thought.

First things first, I grabbed all the ingredients. I’m talking pizza dough (store-bought, ain’t nobody got time for homemade!), fresh spinach, some ricotta cheese, mozzarella (the shredded kind, obvs), garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Next up, I preheated the oven to 450°F (232°C). While that was heating up, I started prepping the spinach. I rinsed it real good and then roughly chopped it up. I also minced a couple cloves of garlic. Gotta have that garlic flavor!

Now, for the fun part: cooking the spinach. I heated up a glug of olive oil in a big skillet over medium heat. Then I tossed in the minced garlic and cooked it for like, a minute, until it got fragrant. Then, I dumped in the spinach. It looks like a lot at first, but it wilts down like crazy. I stirred it around until it was all wilted and tender. This took maybe 5 minutes. I seasoned it with salt, pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little kick.

After that, I took the skillet off the heat and let the spinach cool down a bit. While it was cooling, I stretched out my pizza dough on a baking sheet. I like mine kinda thin and crispy, so I went for a pretty large circle. I brushed the dough with a little more olive oil.

Time to assemble the pizza! I spread a thin layer of ricotta cheese over the pizza dough. Then, I spooned the cooked spinach mixture on top of the ricotta. After that, I sprinkled a generous amount of mozzarella cheese all over the spinach. Gotta have that cheesy goodness!

I popped the pizza in the preheated oven and baked it for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust was golden brown and the cheese was all melty and bubbly. Keep an eye on it, ovens can be weird!

Finally, I took the pizza out of the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing it up. And that’s it! Seriously, the California Kitchen Spinach Pizza was ready to eat! It was surprisingly delicious – the spinach was flavorful, the ricotta was creamy, and the crust was perfectly crispy. I’m definitely making this again!

Tips and Tricks:

  • Don’t overcook the spinach, you just want it wilted.
  • Feel free to add other toppings! Mushrooms, onions, or even a little bit of crumbled feta cheese would be great.
  • If you want a really crispy crust, try baking the pizza on a pizza stone.

Overall, this was a super easy and satisfying recipe. I highly recommend giving it a try!
