Why I Hauled Myself to Azul Tequila This Week
Heard some buzz about Azul Tequila in Springdale having decent drinks, specifically their tequila selection. My usual spot was closed, so figured, why not? Grabbed my notebook – gotta document this madness, right?
Parking was kinda tight, squeezed into a spot way out back. Walked in and boom – loud music, bright colors, smells like spices and fried stuff. Server sat me down fast, dropped off this massive menu. Flipped straight to the drinks section, ’cause priorities.

The Tequila Hunt Begins
Their drinks list is pages long, man. So many margarita variations! But I was laser-focused: Gotta find the good tequila. Started scanning for names I recognized or bottles that looked legit. Here’s what jumped out at me:
- Clase Azul Reposado: Pricey little golden bottle I’ve seen on Insta.
- Don Julio 1942: Big rep for smoothness, always curious.
- Casa Dragones Joven: Crystal bottle, fancy stuff.
- Herradura Ultra Añejo: Extra aged? Sign me up.
- Espolón Blanco: Solid everyday choice, figured it be a good baseline.
Server came back looking impatient. Ordered the Don Julio 1942 neat first. Gotta see what all the fuss is about, pure and simple.
Taking the Plunge (Sips & Notes)
Glass arrived. Nice pour, smelled surprisingly sweet – vanilla, caramel? First sip… damn. Smooth as hell. Zero bite, just kinda slides down. Rich, sweet agave taste, little bit of oak? Too easy to drink. Expensive? Yeah. Tasty? Definitely.
Next up, needed a contrast. Ordered the Espolón Blanco, also neat. Big difference! Sharper smell, more peppery agave. That first sip hit different – definite bite, classic tequila character! Cleaner finish than the Don Julio, no sweetness. Good, solid, honest tequila. My kinda budget-friendly workhorse.
Tempted by the Clase Azul, but my wallet was already side-eyeing me after the Don Julio. Maybe next time.
Random Thoughts (And Why Tequila Matters)
Sipping these, you realize why decent tequila gets its own post. The cheap crap? Burning throat, nasty hangover. The good stuff? Actual flavor, less regret. Places like Azul Tequila get it – gotta have options beyond just the well garbage. Still saw people chugging sugary frozen margaritas made with who-knows-what. Their loss, I guess.
Overall? Mission accomplished. Found my top picks: Don Julio 1942 for treating yourself, Espolón Blanco for everyday sipping or mixing. Did I try everything? Nah. Should I go back just for the tequila tasting? Probably. My wallet is already crying.

And the food? Ordered some nachos. They were fine. But this was a drinks recon trip. Food notes are for another day.
