Well, let me tell ya about the food in Ireland, June 2024. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya!

Festivals and Food, a Whole Lotta Grub!
Now, they got these big shindigs, festivals they call ’em. Like this “Taste of Dublin” thing in June. Mercy, it’s a whole lotta food! They say it’s in Merrion Square, fancy place I reckon. You go in there, and it’s food everywhere. Lots of folks, music, and enough food to feed a whole county, I swear! They got all sorts of things to eat, stuff you never even heard of.
- Traditional Eats: They got this “soda bread,” it’s like a heavy biscuit, kinda plain but fills ya up. And “colcannon,” that’s mashed potatoes with cabbage and stuff, good for ya, I guess. Then there’s “champ,” more mashed potatoes, but with scallions this time. “Boxty” is like a potato pancake, fried up nice and crispy. “Boiled bacon and cabbage,” well, that’s just what it sounds like, plain and simple, but tasty.
- Fancy Stuff: Now, at these festivals, they got more than just the regular stuff. Them chefs, they get all fancy, makin’ dishes with all sorts of sauces and swirls. I seen some things I couldn’t even name, but they looked pretty, and I heard folks sayin’ they tasted mighty good.
Other Things to Do, Besides Eating:
There’s more than just eatin’ going on, though. They got these other festivals too, like the “Liberties Festival” in July. It’s got games, music, and shows, and I bet they got food there too, they always do! And then there’s the “Forbidden Fruit Festival” in Dublin city, that’s music and such, probably got food stalls there too, you can’t have a party without snacks, right?
Finding Out More:

Now, if you wanna know more about what’s going on, they got these websites. and , they tell ya everything that’s happenin’. And there’s somethin’ called “Funderland” at the Royal Dublin Society, sounds like fun, probably got food there too! Kids love them places with bright lights and sugary treats, my grand kids sure do.
My Thoughts on Irish Food:
I tell ya, the Irish, they know how to eat! They got the good, plain food that fills your belly, and they got the fancy stuff too, for special occasions. June’s a good time to go, lots of festivals and plenty of sunshine, hopefully. But even if it rains, there’s always a warm pub with a plate of something hearty waiting for ya.
The food in Ireland, it’s simple but good. It sticks to your ribs, ya know? They use a lot of potatoes, and cabbage, and meat. Not too much fuss, just good, honest food. And the people, they’re friendly folks. They’ll make sure you’re well fed and happy. You go to Ireland, you won’t go hungry, that’s for sure.
So, if you find yourself in Ireland in June, go to a festival, eat some food, and have a good time. You won’t regret it, I promise ya. And don’t forget to try the soda bread, it ain’t much to look at, but it’ll keep ya goin’ all day long.

That’s all I got to say about it. Go eat, be merry, and enjoy the food. And don’t worry about gettin’ lost, there’s always someone around to point you in the right direction, probably towards the nearest food stall!
