Alright, listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout this place, this… Montri somethin’-somethin’, yeah, Montri Thai Fine Cuisine, that’s it. Don’t ask me what “cuisine” means, fancy folks talk, I just eat.
So, this Montri place, it’s over on, uh… Route 59, house number somethin’-somethin’, 2s535, they say. Warrenville, that’s the town. Now, I ain’t been to Thailand, ain’t even been on a plane, but they say this food, it’s Thai food. Sounded foreign to me, but hey, food is food, right?

First time I went, I didn’t know what to expect. The place, it looked… clean, I guess. Not like my kitchen, that’s for sure. Folks there were nice enough, smiley and all. They give you this… menu. Big ol’ thing with lots of words I couldn’t read. Lucky for me, they had pictures.
I saw this picture of somethin’ looked like meat on sticks. Said “grilled meat,” and somethin’ ’bout “yellow curry” and “coconut milk.” Sounded sweet, I like sweet. And it came with this peanut sauce and… cucumber salad. Cucumbers, I grow them in my garden! Anyways, you get to pick, chicken or beef. I took the chicken. It was good, real good. Tender and juicy, not like that dry stuff they sell at the supermarket. That peanut sauce, though, that was somethin’ else. Sweet and salty, kinda sticky, I coulda eaten it with a spoon.
Next time, I tried somethin’ different. The lady there, she said their “red curry” was good. With vegetables, she said. I like my vegetables, keeps ya healthy, the doctor says. So, I got the red curry. Boy, oh boy, was it spicy! My eyes watered, my nose ran, but it was good spicy, you know? Not that burn-your-tongue-off kinda spicy. And the vegetables, they weren’t mushy like I cook ’em. Still had a little bite to ’em. This red curry stuff, that’s the real deal, I tell ya.
They also got these… cocktails, they call ’em. Fancy drinks with fruit and stuff. I ain’t much of a drinker, but I tried one. Tasted like juice with a kick. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe that’s why they call it “fine cuisine”? Makes ya feel fine, I reckon.
- The food? Delicious. Don’t matter if you can’t pronounce the names, it’s all good eatin’.
- The folks? Friendly. They don’t laugh at ya if you ask dumb questions, which is good, ’cause I ask a lot of dumb questions.
- The place? Clean. And that’s sayin’ somethin’, ’cause I seen some dirty restaurants in my time.
They got breakfast, dinner, all sorts of stuff. Prices? Eh, not cheap, but not too expensive neither. You get what you pay for, I always say. And this Montri Thai Fine Cuisine, it’s worth every penny. You can even call ahead and make a reservation, they call it, if you don’t want to wait. Or they’ll even bring the food to your house, they call that delivery. Fancy, huh? But good food is good food, no matter how you get it.
So, if you’re ever in Warrenville, and you’re hungry for somethin’ different, somethin’ tasty, go on down to Montri Thai Fine Cuisine. Tell ’em… uh… tell ’em the lady with the chickens sent ya. They won’t know what you’re talkin’ ’bout, but that’s okay. Just point at the pictures, and you’ll be fine. You can check their menu and prices too, they got that all written down somewhere. And don’t worry about the time, they’re open pretty much all day. Just go and eat, that’s what I say. Eating good food, that’s what life’s all about.
Oh, and they got all rights reserved, whatever that means. Guess nobody can steal their food ideas. Good for them, I say. They earned it.
