  • Puddin’ it is! You take that instant puddin’ mix, yeah, the one you get at the store. Don’t matter what flavor, chocolate, vanilla, banana, whatever tickles your fancy. Now, instead of using just milk, you use half and half. Or maybe half milk, half cream, you get the idea. Makes it richer, you see. Stir it up good, let it sit in the fridge for a bit, and bam! You got yourself a dessert fit for a king, or at least for my grandkids.
  • Freezy Fruity Thingamajigs: Got some leftover fruit? Strawberries, peaches, whatever’s lookin’ a bit sad in the bowl? Don’t you throw it away! Mash it up a bit, add a little sugar, maybe a squeeze of lemon, and then pour in that half and half cream. Mix it all together, pour it in little cups or popsicle molds, and stick it in the freezer. Couple hours later, you got yourself some real nice freezy treats. Kids love ’em, and they’re good for ya, too, I reckon. At least better than that store-bought stuff with all them funny words on the label.

Now, some folks like to get all fancy-pants with their desserts. They got their whisks and their mixers and their whatnots. Me? I just use a spoon and a bowl. Works just fine. And that half and half cream? It works in all sorts of things.

Stir it every now and then so it doesn’t get all icy, and you got yourself some homemade ice cream. It ain’t perfect, but it’s good enough, and it sure beats paying them high prices at the store.

And for them desserts that needs to set a bit? Just make ‘em ahead of time, stick ‘em in the fridge, and forget about ‘em till you’re ready to eat. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, right?

And remember, ain’t nothin’ wrong with a little somethin’ sweet after a long day. So go ahead, treat yourself. You deserve it. And that half and half cream? It’ll make it even better. You just wait and see. Desserts with half and half cream are the best kind, if you ask me.

And if you got some left over don’t you be throwing it out. That stuff keeps good for a while you know. You can use it in your scrambled eggs, makes ‘em fluffy. Or in your coffee, makes it smooth. Or even in your soup, makes it creamy. It’s like that magic potion, makes everything better. So don’t be wasteful now. Use it up, every last drop. That’s what I always say. Waste not, want not. And when you’re out, just get some more. It ain’t that expensive, and it’s worth every penny, I tell ya.
