Hey everyone, it’s your boy back at it again with another kitchen adventure. Today, I got a real hankering for something sweet and crunchy, so I decided to try my hand at making a homemade version of the classic Clark Bar. I’ve always been a fan of that peanut butter and chocolate combo, you know?

So, first things first, I gathered my ingredients. I grabbed some milk chocolate, sugar, cocoa butter, the whole nine yards for that chocolatey goodness. Then, for the inside, I picked up some corn syrup, more sugar, peanuts, molasses, and a few other things to get that signature Clark Bar taste and texture. I even snagged some vanilla extract and soy lecithin because I saw them listed in the ingredients of the real deal.

Once I had everything laid out, I started by melting the chocolate. I used a double boiler setup because I didn’t want to scorch it. While that was going, I mixed the corn syrup, sugar, and molasses in a separate pot. This part was a bit tricky, I had to keep stirring to make sure it didn’t stick or burn.

After the chocolate was melted and the sugary mixture was ready, I ground up the peanuts. I wanted some texture, so I didn’t make it too fine. Then, I combined everything, adding in the vanilla and a pinch of salt. It was starting to look like a real candy bar filling!

I poured the mixture into a lined baking dish and let it cool in the fridge for a bit. While it was setting, I remembered reading something about the Clark company’s history. Apparently, the family that inherited it didn’t care much for the business and just sold it off. Sad, right? These bars are a piece of history!

  • Milk Chocolate: (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Milk Powder, Butter Oil, Soy Lecithin, Vanilla Extract)
  • Corn Syrup
  • Sugar
  • Peanuts
  • Molasses
  • Corn Flour
  • Invert Sugar
  • Salt
  • Coconut Oil
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Soy Lecithin

Once it was solid, I melted more chocolate and covered the peanut butter mixture with it. Another round in the fridge to let the chocolate harden, and then came the moment of truth. I cut it into bars, and man, they looked pretty darn good.

I took a bite, and it was awesome. Not exactly like the original, but it definitely hit the spot. It had that crunchy, peanut buttery, chocolatey goodness that makes Clark Bars so unique. I’ve heard people compare them to Butterfingers, but I think Clark Bars are way better. There’s just something special about them, you know? They remind me of simpler times, maybe even my childhood.

Anyway, this was a fun little project. It took some time and effort, but it was worth it. Now I’ve got a bunch of homemade Clark Bars to snack on. If you’re a fan of these classic candy bars or just love a good DIY project, give this a try. It’s a sweet, sweet victory.
