Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with some ideas for graduation desserts ’cause, you know, that time of year is rolling around again. I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to in the kitchen.
First off, I started with the idea of doing something classic. Everyone loves a good chocolate chip cookie, right? So I baked a big batch of those. I used my go-to recipe – you know, the one that always comes out perfect, a little crispy on the edges and soft in the middle.

- Mixing the dough was a breeze.
- I chilled it for a bit, just to make sure they wouldn’t spread too thin.
- Then popped them in the oven and waited for that amazing smell to fill the house.
But then I thought, “Why not try something a bit fancier?” I remembered seeing a recipe for an Oreo mousse cake that looked pretty easy. So, I gave that a shot too. Let me tell you, that thing is a chocolate lover’s dream.
- I crushed up a bunch of Oreos for the crust.
- Mixed up the mousse, which was basically just cream, sugar, and more chocolate.
- Layered it all in a pan and stuck it in the fridge to set.
Cupcakes Time
Next, I decided to do cupcakes. I picked up some pre-made cake mix. I whipped up a batch of vanilla cupcakes and colored the frosting to match the school colors. They looked pretty festive, if I do say so myself.
Finally, I wanted to test out my new Instant Pot. I found a recipe online for a chocolate chip cheesecake that you can make in it. Sounded weird, but I was curious.
- Mixed the batter like a regular cheesecake.
- Poured it into a springform pan that fit inside the Instant Pot.
- Cooked it up, and man, was I surprised. It came out super creamy and delicious!
So there you have it, my little adventure in making graduation desserts. I ended up with a good mix of easy classics and a couple of fancier things. It was a fun time.
