Okay, so let me tell you about this little project I’ve been messing around with lately. It all started when I got this crazy idea to try and taste my way around the globe, but without actually, you know, traveling the globe. My bank account laughed, but I was determined. So I thought, why not do a deep dive into the world of beverages? Yeah, drinks from different countries. Sounds fun, right?

First off, I had to figure out what to even try. I mean, where do you even start? I spent hours going down internet rabbit holes, reading travel blogs, and bugging my friends who’ve actually been places. I made a massive list. It was a bit nuts, to be honest, with everything from super famous stuff to drinks I’d never heard of.

Then came the fun part – finding these drinks. Some were easy peasy. I mean, you can find pretty standard stuff like English Breakfast tea or Italian wine at most big stores. But others? Forget about it. For example, I tried to find some specific non-alcoholic ones from a few countries, which was hard. I ended up hunting down specialty stores and ordering some random stuff online, crossing my fingers it would actually show up.

Once I started getting my hands on these drinks, I started tasting them. I tried to make it a whole thing, you know? I’d research a bit about each drink’s history and how it’s usually enjoyed. I even tried to pair some with the right foods, just to get the full experience.

And let me tell you, some of these drinks were wild. I had some amazing stuff, like this super refreshing fruit drinks. But then there were some… let’s just say acquired tastes. I remember trying this one fermented drink that tasted like nothing I’d ever had before. It was an experience, to say the least.

I started jotting down notes about each drink – what it tasted like, what I thought about it, where it’s from, and whether I’d go broke trying to get my hands on it again. Then, in order to have a better and more intuitive understanding of the different drinks around the world, I decided to draw a table. It’s like a cheat sheet. This way, when I encounter certain drinks in the future, I know what to expect and can also decide whether to try it, and, I can make a better decision when I order it.

A Summary

Here are some of the drinks I’ve tried and my thoughts on them:

  • Water: It is the most consumed drink. Without it, we die.
  • Tea: Without sweeteners, it is a healthy choice.
  • Coffee: Same as tea, don’t add sugar, or just add a little.
  • Wine: Many people enjoy wine, and it is an essential part of Western food.

So yeah, that’s my global beverage adventure so far. It’s been a wild ride, full of surprises, and it’s definitely not over yet. I’m still on the hunt for more unique drinks to try. It’s a fun, tasty, and sometimes weird way to explore the world from my kitchen.

I’ll keep updating my little beverage diary. Who knows what other crazy drinks I’ll stumble upon? Stay tuned, folks!
