Okay, so the other day I was craving some Indian food, and I remembered this place I’d heard about called Saffron Indian Cuisine Bar & Grill. I figured, why not give it a shot? So, I looked it up online, just to get a feel for the place, you know?
Turns out, they have a few locations, including one in Eagan and another one in Thousand Oaks. The website made it sound pretty good, talking about a “modern twist” on traditional Indian cooking. They’re also fully licensed, which is always a plus. I was getting hungry just reading about it.

I decided to go to the one in Eagan, which is at 845 Vikings Pkwy. I checked out the menu online first, just to see what they had. I saw a lot of options that I liked, but I decided I’d just see what they had when I got there. I checked out the place first, just to see what it was like and then I got there. When I get there, I asked for a table and was seated right away. It was pretty easy to get in and get a table, but there was a lot of people there, which I took as a good sign.
Once I was seated I took a look at the menu. They had all the classics – butter chicken, tikka masala, biryani – you name it. But they also had some interesting-sounding dishes I hadn’t seen before. I ended up ordering a few things to share with my friend, including some appetizers, a couple of main courses, and of course, some naan bread.
- Appetizers: We started with some vegetable samosas and onion bhaji.
- Main Courses: We got the butter chicken, of course, and a lamb vindaloo, which is one of my favorites.
- Sides: We ordered some garlic naan and some basmati rice.
The food came out pretty quickly, and let me tell you, it was amazing. The samosas were crispy and flavorful, the butter chicken was creamy and rich, and the lamb vindaloo had just the right amount of heat. We devoured everything, and even ordered some extra naan to sop up all the sauce. I ate so much I almost couldn’t finish it all, but it was so good that I wanted to keep eating.
After we finished eating, we sat there for a while, just chatting and letting the food digest. It was a really nice atmosphere, and the service was great too. The staff was really friendly and attentive, and they made sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, I had a great experience at Saffron Indian Cuisine Bar & Grill. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. I’ll definitely be going back there again, and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for some good Indian food. It was one of the best experiences I had, and I’ve been back a couple of times since.
If you’re in the Eagan or Thousand Oaks area, or even Boise, where they also have a location, you should definitely check it out. You won’t be disappointed!
