Okay, so I wanna talk about this place called Wai Wai Chinese Cuisine. Sounds kinda funny, right? I found it the other day when I was wandering around Pittsburgh, feeling peckish. It was on Liberty Ave, somewhere around the 4717 mark, I think.
I strolled in, and it was your typical Chinese takeout joint, you know? Nothing fancy, but it smelled pretty good. They had one of those menus with a million items, so I just pointed at a picture of some orange chicken and hoped for the best. I saw some other folks ordering, and it looked like they do a decent delivery business too.

- First step: Find the place. It’s on Liberty Ave.
- Next: Order some food. I went with orange chicken.
- Then: Wait. It wasn’t too long, maybe 15 minutes?
- Finally: Eat!
The Food Situation
The orange chicken was actually pretty decent. Not the best I’ve ever had, but it hit the spot. It was that sweet and tangy sauce with a little bit of spice, you know the kind. The chicken was crispy, not soggy, which is always a plus. The portion size was huge! I ate until I was stuffed and still had leftovers.
I saw they had a bunch of other stuff on the menu – your usual suspects like General Tso’s, lo mein, fried rice, the whole nine yards. They even had some dishes I didn’t recognize, might be worth trying next time.
So yeah, Wai Wai Chinese Cuisine. It’s not gonna win any awards, but if you’re in the area and need a quick, cheap, and tasty Chinese food fix, it’s worth checking out. Just don’t expect anything mind-blowing, and you’ll be alright.
I heard later on that it is some kind of chain restaurant under the name of Chaudhary Group, maybe that’s why it tasted familar. Also they do takeout and delivery, I saw it on the receipt.
Anyway, that’s my little food adventure for the day. Gotta go find some dessert now. Maybe ice cream…
