Okay, so, I made a beverage hat today! I know, it sounds a bit silly, but I saw a picture of one online and thought, “Why not? Let’s do it!” So, I grabbed an old baseball cap from my closet – it’s just a regular, nothing special kind of cap. I also gathered some stuff from around the house to help me create this masterpiece.
First, I took two empty plastic bottles, you know, the kind you get water or soda in. I cleaned them out real good. Gotta make sure there’s no sticky residue, right? Then, I took some plastic tubing I had lying around from an old project. I measured it out, making sure it was long enough to reach from the bottles, which would be on top of the hat, down to my mouth.
Next, I carefully poked some holes in the cap of each bottle, just big enough for the tubing to fit snugly. After that, I poked two holes on the top of my baseball cap, one on each side. This is where the bottles would sit. I screwed the bottle caps onto the bottles and then inserted the tubing into the bottles through the holes.
The tricky part was attaching the bottles to the hat. I used a hot glue gun for this. I carefully applied the glue around the holes on the hat and then stuck the bottle caps onto them. I had to hold them in place for a while to make sure they were secure. And guess what? I also added some colorful tape around the edges of the bottles, just to make it look a bit funky. I found some colorful duct tape in my toolbox.
Then I filled the bottles, one with just water and another with some coconut water. I put on the hat, stuck the tubes in my mouth and tried it out. It worked! I could sip from each bottle by just tilting my head a bit. I know, it looks kinda goofy, but it’s actually pretty handy, especially when you’re doing something where you need both hands. And let me tell you, it’s a great conversation starter.
Here’s a list of what I used:
- One old baseball cap
- Two empty plastic bottles with caps
- Plastic tubing
- Hot glue gun
- Colorful duct tape
- Water
- Coconut water
So, there you have it, my adventure in making a beverage hat. It was a fun little project, and it actually works. Who needs regular cups anyway?
