So, I tried making this drink called a “Blimey Limey Smoothie” the other day. I saw it online and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” It’s supposed to taste like a limeade but with a fruity twist. Sounds good, right?
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I already had some frozen strawberries and pineapples in the freezer from my last grocery run. Good thing, because these are the main ingredients. Then, I grabbed some oranges and limes from the fruit basket. The recipe I found said no added sugar, which is cool.

I started by squeezing the juice out of the oranges and limes. I used one of those hand-held juicers. It was a bit of a workout, but I got enough juice. Next, I threw everything into my blender – the frozen fruits, the juice. I made sure the blender was on its highest speed, as the instructions said. I let it run for about 30 to 60 seconds, like they said to. It made a lot of noise, but I figured that’s normal.
- Frozen strawberries
- Frozen pineapples
- Orange juice
- Lime juice
When it looked smooth, I poured it into a glass. It was thick and cold, just like a smoothie should be. I took a sip, and man, it was really refreshing! It did taste like a limeade, but way better because of the strawberries and pineapples. It’s a bit tangy, but not too much. The sweetness from the fruits balances it out perfectly.
Honestly, it turned out way better than I expected. I thought it might be too sour or too sweet, but it was just right. It’s a nice change from my usual coffee in the morning. Plus, it’s probably healthier too. I’m definitely making this again. Maybe next time, I’ll try adding some other fruits, just to see what happens.
