Okay, so today I messed around in the kitchen and tried to make this apple spice cake I saw online. It looked super easy, with just 3 ingredients. I thought, “Why not?” I’m not the best baker, but this seemed foolproof.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a box of spice cake mix from the pantry. I think it was just a regular one, nothing fancy. Then, I needed some apple pie filling. Luckily, I had a can sitting around. And lastly, eggs. I always have eggs, so that was easy.

Mixing it Up
I dumped the cake mix into a big bowl. I then cracked three eggs and whisked them before mixing the apple pie filling, and then I poured that into the bowl with the cake mix. I folded it into a batter. I mixed everything together until it was all combined. It looked a little weird, with chunks of apple and all, but I trusted the process.
Baking Time
I greased a baking pan – I think it was a 9×13 inch one – and poured the batter in. I spread it out evenly, popped it into the preheated oven at 350 degrees. I set the timer for about 30 minutes, but I kept an eye on it. You know, every oven is different.
The Waiting Game
- While it was baking, I thought about what to put on top.
- I had some caramel sauce in the fridge and a bag of sliced almonds.
- Those seemed like they would go well with the apple and spice flavors.
The Result
After about 35 minutes, I checked the cake with a toothpick, and it came out clean. It was golden brown and smelled amazing! I let it cool for a bit before I tried it and thought it tasted pretty good for something so simple!
I cut myself a slice and drizzled some caramel sauce over it. Then, I sprinkled some sliced almonds on top. It looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. It tasted even better! The cake was moist and had a nice apple flavor. The caramel and almonds were a nice touch. I ended up putting it in the fridge for an hour and served it later that night, and it tasted even better!
Overall, I’d say this 3-ingredient apple spice cake was a win. It was easy to make, and it tasted delicious. I’ll definitely be making this again. Maybe next time I’ll try it with different toppings. Whipped cream, maybe? Or some vanilla ice cream? The possibilities are endless!
