Alright, so today I wanna talk about this little food adventure I had. I’ve been calling it “Lin’s Cuisine” ’cause, well, it kinda started with this place called Lin’s, but it’s really about all the yummy stuff I’ve been trying out, inspired by that place, you know?
Starting with a Spark
It all kicked off when I stumbled upon this spot, Lin Gusto, in Dortmund. It’s in this area they call the Klinikviertel. I saw a note about them, saying they’re all about real-deal Italian food. Think handmade pizzas, fresh pasta, the works. I thought, “Why not?” I was in the mood to try something new. Also, I learned a bit about Dortmund, like some of their famous cuisine and specialties. It got me thinking about how people cook here.

Diving into the Kitchen
So, I started messing around in my own kitchen. I’m no chef, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I tried making pizza from scratch. The dough, the sauce, the whole nine yards. It was a bit of a mess at first, flour everywhere, but hey, it was fun. Then I went to explore Lin’s Chinese restaurant after. It’s a whole different world of flavors. I’m talking about noodles, dumplings, and all sorts of dishes I can’t even pronounce right.
Experimenting with Flavors
After that, I got bolder. I started looking up recipes, watching videos, just trying to figure out how to make this stuff. I was mixing and matching, trying out different spices, different ingredients. Some attempts were pretty good, some… well, let’s just say I ordered takeout a few times. But I kept at it, you know? It became this little project of mine, seeing what I could whip up.
Bringing It All Together
- First, I made a list of all the dishes I wanted to try.
- Then, I started gathering ingredients, hitting up different stores, you know, the usual.
- I started with the easier stuff, things I felt I could handle.
- Gradually, I moved on to more complicated recipes, taking it step by step.
- I even invited some friends over a couple of times to be my guinea pigs. They seemed to enjoy it, or at least they were polite enough to say so.
The Outcome
In the end, I wouldn’t say I’ve mastered anything, but I definitely learned a lot. I can make a decent pizza now, and I’ve got a few other dishes under my belt that I’m pretty proud of. It’s not just about the food, though. It’s about the whole process, the experimenting, the learning, and yeah, even the failures. I found a new hobby that’s actually pretty rewarding. Plus, I get to eat all the results, so that’s a win-win in my book. It’s been a tasty journey, for sure, and it’s still ongoing. Who knows what I’ll cook up next?
