So, yesterday I was craving some Indian food, and I remembered reading about this place called Mint Indian Cuisine. I’d heard good things, but I’m always a little hesitant to try new restaurants, especially when it comes to ethnic food. But hey, I thought, why not give it a shot?
First thing I did was look up their menu online. I wanted to get an idea of what they offered and see if anything caught my eye. I saw that they have three locations, one in Flamingo, and they had a great menu.
Browsing through their menu, I noticed they had a ton of options. They had all the classic Indian dishes, like curries, and a bunch of vegetarian options, too, which is always a plus for me. I also saw they had these little notes next to some dishes – “(GF)” for gluten-free, “(V)” for vegetarian, and “(DF)” for dairy-free. That was super helpful because my friend is gluten-free, and I always try to keep that in mind when choosing a place.
One thing that really stood out to me was their homemade mint curry sauce. It sounded amazing! The description said it was made with onions, tomatoes, and spices, and they simmered vegetables in it. I could almost taste it just reading about it.
After looking at the menu, I decided to check out some reviews. I found out that Mint Indian Cuisine in Scottsdale had a 4.3-star rating on OpenTable. Not bad at all! I also read that a husband-wife duo, Kris and Bindi Parikh, started the restaurant because they wanted to bring authentic Indian food to Las Vegas. I always appreciate a good backstory, and it made me even more interested in trying the place.
The menu looked good, the reviews were positive, and the story behind the restaurant was heartwarming. So, I called up my gluten-free friend and asked if she wanted to go to Mint Indian Cuisine with me. She was in, and we decided to head over to the Flamingo location. We didn’t make a reservation, hoping we could just walk in and get a table.
The Atmosphere
- Welcoming: As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and a friendly “Namaste.” The place had a really nice vibe, not too fancy but still cozy.
- Aroma: The air was filled with the most amazing aroma of spices. It was like a preview of the deliciousness to come.
- Decor: The decor was simple but tasteful, with some Indian-inspired artwork on the walls.
The Food
- Mint Curry: I went straight for the homemade mint curry with vegetables. It was even better than I imagined! The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly.
- Gluten-Free Options: My friend was thrilled with the variety of gluten-free options. She ordered a dish with rice and a different type of curry, and she loved it.
- Authenticity: We could tell that the food was authentic. It wasn’t like some of those places that water down the flavors for the American palate. This was the real deal.
The Service
- Attentive: Our server was super attentive and helpful. He explained the different dishes to us and answered all our questions.
- Friendly: Everyone who worked there was so friendly and welcoming. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
- Fast: Even though the place was pretty busy, we didn’t have to wait long for our food.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at Mint Indian Cuisine. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect. I’ll definitely be going back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian food in Las Vegas or Scottsdale. This place is a real gem!
