Okay, today I tried grilling some beef sirloin tips. I love a good steak, but sometimes I want something a little different, you know? I saw these sirloin tips at the store and thought, “Why not give them a shot?”
First, I grabbed the beef tips and patted them dry with some paper towels. You gotta get that excess moisture off if you want a good sear. Then, I made a simple marinade. Nothing fancy, just some olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a little bit of Worcestershire sauce. I mixed it all up in a bowl and tossed the beef tips in there, making sure they were all nicely coated.

I let them sit in the marinade for about 30 minutes. While I waited, I fired up my charcoal grill. I like using charcoal because it gives the meat that awesome smoky flavor. Once the coals were nice and hot, I arranged them for a two-zone setup—hot side for searing and a cooler side for finishing them off.
Grilling Time
- I placed the beef tips on the hot side of the grill. I listened for that sizzle – that’s how you know you’re doing it right!
- I seared them for about 2-3 minutes per side, just enough to get some nice grill marks and a good crust.
- Then, I moved them over to the cooler side of the grill to finish cooking. I like my steak medium-rare, so I cooked them for another 5-7 minutes, flipping them occasionally.
- To check if they were done, I used my trusty meat thermometer. Gotta make sure they hit that 130-135°F mark for medium-rare.
Once they were cooked to perfection, I took them off the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes. This is important, folks! It lets the juices redistribute, so you end up with a tender, juicy piece of meat. After resting, I sliced them up and served them with some grilled veggies and a baked potato.
Man, let me tell you, those beef tips were delicious! They were tender, juicy, and had that perfect smoky flavor from the grill. It was a pretty easy meal to make, and it definitely satisfied my steak craving. I’ll be making these again for sure!
