So, I’ve been thinking about starting a mobile beverage business for a while now. You know, one of those cool trailers you see at festivals and events, selling coffee, smoothies, or maybe even cocktails. The idea of being my own boss and working outdoors really appeals to me. Plus, who doesn’t love a good drink on the go?
First things first, I started to look around for a used beverage trailer. I figured it would be way cheaper than buying a new one. I spent hours online, scrolling through listings and comparing prices. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. There were so many options, different sizes, different conditions, and of course, a huge range of prices.

I made a list of what I absolutely needed in a trailer. Things like a good-sized serving window, plenty of counter space, a reliable power source, and decent plumbing. I also wanted something that wasn’t too beat up, you know? First impressions and all that. It also had to be within my budget, which, let’s just say, was not unlimited.
Then I started to reach out to sellers. I sent a ton of emails and made a bunch of phone calls. Some people were super helpful, answering all my questions and sending me extra pictures. Others were a bit more… let’s just say, less responsive. It’s like they were not even interested in selling, which is kinda weird, right?
I narrowed down my choices to a few trailers that seemed like good candidates. I scheduled some visits to go check them out in person. This was the most exciting part! You can never really tell what you are buying just from the photos, right? It also gave me a chance to haggle over the price a bit.
I ended up to check out five different trailers. The first one was a total disaster. It looked okay in the pictures, but in person, it was falling apart. The second one was in better shape, but it was way too small for what I needed. The third one was just way out of my price range. I almost gave up hope at that point, and felt like a total loser.
But then, I went to see the fourth trailer. And guess what? It was perfect! It was the right size, in great condition, and the price was within my budget. I immediately fell in love with it. The seller was a nice old guy who had used it for his own juice business. He told me all about it and gave me some helpful tips.
After a bit of back-and-forth, we agreed on a price. I was so excited! I couldn’t believe it. I finally had my own beverage trailer! I paid the guy, and the next day, I picked up the trailer and towed it home.
What’s next?
- Give it a good cleaning. It needs a deep clean inside and out.
- Customize it. I want to paint it and add my own branding to make it stand out.
- Stock up on supplies. Cups, lids, straws, napkins – all the essentials.
- Get the necessary permits and licenses. Gotta make sure everything is legal.
- Start selling some drinks! That’s the whole point, right?
It’s been a wild ride, but I’m so glad I finally took the plunge. I can’t wait to get my mobile beverage business up and running. Wish me luck!
