Okay, so I gotta tell you about this little adventure I had with my Crathco beverage dispenser. It’s one of those double bowl ones, you know, the kind that can hold like five gallons in each bowl. Super handy for parties or when you’ve got a bunch of thirsty folks around.
Anyway, I noticed the other day that one of the bowls was leaking. Not like a huge gush or anything, but enough to make a mess and, you know, waste precious juice. So, I figured, time to get my hands dirty and see what’s up.
First things first, I turned off the machine and unplugged it. Safety first, right? Then, I emptied out both bowls. Good thing I did, ’cause that leaky one was definitely dripping more than I thought. Once they were empty, I took a closer look at the bowls themselves. They’re made of this tough plastic, pretty sturdy usually.
I started fiddling around with the leaky bowl, trying to see where the problem was. I checked the seals, ran my fingers along the edges, and gave it a good once-over. And then, bingo! I spotted a tiny crack near the bottom. It was barely noticeable, but definitely the culprit.
Now, I’m no expert on fixing appliances, but I’m also not one to shy away from a little DIY. So, I decided to replace the cracked bowl with the new one. And you know what? It’s actually pretty straightforward. The bowls just kind of snap into place. A little wiggling and a firm push, and the new bowl was in.
After replacing the bowls, I checked other parts that is easy to get dirty or loose, such as the drip tray and the agitator.
- Drip Tray: I removed the drip tray and wash it with soap water.
- Agitator: I also removed it and checked if it was in good condition and cleaned it.
With everything back in place, I filled up the bowls, plugged the machine back in, and turned it on. I watched it like a hawk for a while, and guess what? No leaks! Success! It’s running like a champ again, keeping those drinks nice and chilled.
What I learned from this experience
