Today, I felt like having a go at making that Orangina drink – you know, the one with the little bulbous bottle? I’ve always liked it, so I figured, why not try to make it myself? It couldn’t be that hard, right?
First things first, I needed to get some oranges. I hit up the local grocery store and grabbed a bunch. They looked pretty juicy, so that was a good start. Once I got back home, I got to work squeezing the heck out of those oranges. Man, it was a workout! My forearms were definitely feeling it, but it was worth it. Fresh orange juice is the best.

Next up, I needed to get that signature Orangina fizz. I thought about using sparkling water, but then I remembered I had a soda maker lying around somewhere. After a bit of rummaging in the back of the cupboard, I found it! I gave it a quick clean and got it all set up. I poured the fresh orange juice into the bottle, screwed on the top, and started pumping.
Now, I know Orangina has a bit of lemon and other citrus flavors in it. I just squeezed a lemon into the mix and thought maybe i should add a small spoon of sugar. I’m not a big fan of overly sweet drinks, so I just added a tiny bit of sugar for balance. A little taste test confirmed it was just right – not too sweet, not too tart.
I figured it needed something extra, so I added a few orange slices to the mix, just for that extra bit of texture and flavor. After a good shake to get everything mixed together, it was time for the moment of truth. I poured myself a glass, took a sip, and… not bad! It wasn’t exactly like Orangina, but it was pretty darn close. And you know what? It was refreshing as heck, and I made it myself, which made it taste even better.
- Squeezed a bunch of oranges for fresh juice.
- Used a soda maker to add some fizz.
- Added a squeeze of lemon and a tiny bit of sugar.
- Added a few orange slices for flavor and texture.
- Enjoyed the fruits of my labor!
It was a fun little experiment, and it definitely satisfied my Orangina craving. I reckon I’ll be making this again sometime. Maybe next time I’ll try adding some grapefruit or mandarin to the mix. The possibilities are endless!
Homemade Orangina
It was way easier than I thought it would be, and honestly, it was kind of fun playing mad scientist in the kitchen. If you like Orangina, give it a shot. You might surprise yourself!
