Okay, so, I heard about this place called “Royal Cuisine” that does authentic African and American food. I got excited and figured I should check it out and share my experience here.
First, I tried to find it. It wasn’t in the most obvious spot, but I managed to locate it after a bit of searching. When I walked in, it was not very big, but cozy. They had some cool decorations that gave it a nice vibe. The place had a good number of people for the time of day I visited, not packed, but definitely not empty.

I sat down and looked at the menu. I saw the usual items I was expecting, and the prices, well, they were a little high, but I was already here, so I wanted to try the food anyway.
I decided to go with some classic dishes.
- Jollof Rice: I heard a lot about this one, it’s like a spiced rice dish.
- Fried Plantains: I love these, they’re sweet and a great side.
- Egusi Soup: This is a thicker soup made with ground seeds. It sounded interesting.
I placed my order and waited. It took a bit of time, but hey, good food takes time, right? When the food arrived, it looked amazing! The colors and the smells were really inviting.
I started with the Jollof Rice. It was flavorful, a bit spicy, but not too much. I really enjoyed it. Then I tried the fried plantains. They were perfectly cooked, sweet and a little crispy on the outside. The Egusi soup was next. It was rich and had a unique flavor that I can’t really describe, but I liked it. It was definitely something different.
After finishing up, I felt pretty full and satisfied. I paid the bill, which, yeah, it was a bit pricey, but for the experience and the taste, I thought it was worth it.
Overall Experience
I left the place with a happy stomach and a good feeling. It’s always fun to try new foods, and this place delivered on that front. If you’re looking to try something different and don’t mind spending a bit more, I’d say give Royal Cuisine a shot. You might discover something new that you like!
