Okay, so today I decided to dive into making a “Family Thai Cuisine Menu”. I’ve always loved Thai food, and with a family gathering coming up, I thought, why not try to make a bunch of dishes myself?
Getting Started
First, I had to figure out what I even wanted to make. I knew I needed a variety – some appetizers, main courses, maybe a dessert. I hit up the internet, browsing through a few Thai food blogs and websites to get ideas.I didn’t use any specific websites, just kinda browsed around until I had a good idea of popular dishes.

Making My List
After looking around, I started to jot down some dishes that sounded both tasty and achievable. I wasn’t going to attempt anything super complicated for my first try! I ended up with this list:
- Appetizers:
- Fresh Spring Rolls (with peanut sauce, of course!)
- Satay Chicken Skewers
- Main Courses:
- Pad Thai (a classic!)
- Green Curry with Chicken
- Massaman Curry with Beef
- Dessert:
- Mango Sticky Rice (another must-have)
The Shopping Spree
Next up, the dreaded grocery shopping. I needed SO many ingredients. I made a detailed list, separating it by grocery store sections, because nobody’s got time to wander around aimlessly.
I made sure I got some key ingredients like:
- Fish sauce (the good stuff!)
- Coconut milk (tons of it!)
- Thai basil
- Rice noodles
- Curry paste (for the green and massaman)
- Fresh mangoes
- Sticky rice
Prep Work
Back home, I started prepping. This took a while, honestly. Lots of chopping vegetables, marinating the chicken for the satay and the curries.I made the peanut sauce for the spring rolls from scratch – it’s surprisingly easy, just peanut butter, hoisin sauce, lime juice, and a little water.
Cooking Time
The next day, it was showtime! I started with the curries, letting them simmer away and develop flavor. Then I tackled the Pad Thai, which is always a bit of a race against the clock to get the noodles just right. The satay went on the grill, and I quickly assembled the fresh spring rolls, which were super refreshing.
The Final Result
Finally, everything was ready! Setting it all out on the table, I felt pretty proud. The aromas were amazing, and it looked like a proper Thai feast. And the taste? Success! The family loved it, especially the Green Curry and the Mango Sticky Rice. Even my picky nephew went back for * was a lot of work, but totally worth it to see everyone enjoying the food. I’ll definitely be making Thai food again, maybe with a few tweaks here and there based on what I learned this time around.
