Okay, so, camping season is here, and I’m all about that outdoor life. But, let’s be real, campfire cooking can be a struggle. I’m not trying to spend hours slaving over a tiny stove. I want something easy, tasty, and, most importantly, quick! So, I went on a mission to find some super simple chicken recipes that would be perfect for camping.
My “Easy Chicken Recipes” Experiment
First things first, I gathered some recipes online. I skipped anything that looked complicated or required a ton of ingredients. I mean, who wants to pack their entire spice rack for a weekend trip? No, thanks.

Then I headed to the grocery store. I needed chicken, obviously, and a few other basic things. I opted for boneless, skinless chicken breasts because they cook fast and are easy to handle. I also grabbed some veggies, foil, and some pre-made marinades. (Again, keeping it simple!) .
Test Run in the Backyard
Before I took these recipes into the wild, I decided to do a test run in my backyard. I fired up my little portable grill and got to work.
- Foil Packet Fiesta: This was the easiest one. I just chopped up some chicken, bell peppers, and onions. I tossed everything in a foil packet with some taco seasoning and a little bit of oil. Sealed it up tight and threw it on the grill. About 20 minutes later, boom! Delicious, flavorful chicken and veggies.
- Marinade Magic: I took some chicken breasts and slathered them in a store-bought honey garlic marinade. I let them sit for about 30 minutes while I prepped some potatoes and corn on the cob. Then, I just grilled the chicken until it was cooked through. Super easy, and the marinade kept the chicken nice and moist.
- Campfire Skewers: This method made a little of a mess, but it worked! Cut the chicken and some veggies into 1 inch chunks, slide all of them into a skewer, then I put them directly into the campfire. It was done when the chicken were white inside.
The Verdict
All of these chicken were great! They were incredibly easy to make, and the cleanup was a breeze. Plus, they tasted amazing! I’m definitely adding these to my regular camping meal rotation. Honestly, you could even make these at home on a busy weeknight. They’re that simple! So yeah, mission accomplished. Easy chicken recipes for camping? Check!
