Okay, so yesterday I was craving something sweet and chocolatey, but I also wanted something easy. I remembered I had some puff pastry in the freezer, and that’s when it hit me – chocolate puff pastry desserts! Let me tell you, it was a fantastic decision.

Getting Started

First, I took out the puff pastry to thaw. It took about 20-30 minutes, just sitting on the counter. While that was happening, I gathered my other ingredients. Basically, I just needed chocolate – I used a mix of milk chocolate and dark chocolate chips, because that’s what I had. You could totally use whatever kind you like, though. Nutella would be amazing, too!

Making the Magic Happen

  • I preheated my oven to, like, 375 degrees Fahrenheit. You know, the usual baking temperature.
  • Once the pastry was thawed, I unrolled it onto a lightly floured surface. Just a sprinkle of flour so it wouldn’t stick.
  • I cut the pastry into squares. I wasn’t super precise, just eyeballed it. Maybe 3-inch squares, something like that.
  • Then, I put a spoonful of the chocolate chips in the center of each square.
  • And then,I sprayed some oil on it.
  • The tricky part (not really) – I folded the pastry over the chocolate, making little triangles. I pinched the edges together with my fingers to seal them up. A fork would probably work better, but I was lazy.

Baking and Enjoying

I placed the little chocolate pockets onto a baking sheet. I didn’t bother with parchment paper, but you could if you want easier cleanup. Then, I popped them into the oven for about 15-20 minutes, until they were all golden brown and puffy.

The smell while they were baking? Incredible! I let them cool for a few minutes (very important, molten chocolate is HOT), and then I dusted them with a little powdered sugar. Totally optional, but it makes them look fancy.

And that was it! Seriously, so easy and so good. They were warm, gooey, chocolatey, and the puff pastry was perfectly flaky. My family devoured them. Next time, I’m thinking of adding some raspberries or maybe a little cream cheese with the chocolate. The possibilities are endless!
