Okay, so I recently hosted a big party and decided to go with Indian cuisine for the catering. I’ve always loved Indian food, with all its vibrant flavors and spices, but I’d never actually organized it for a large group before. It was quite the experience, let me tell you!
First, I started doing some research online. You know, just browsing around to see what my options were. I found out that there are so many caterers offering Indian food, and the prices can really vary. It’s important to get quotes from different places and compare them. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at menus and trying to figure out what dishes would be crowd-pleasers.

After comparing a few places, I stumbled upon this one caterer called “SHR Catering” that seemed pretty legit. They had a website where you could look at their whole menu. It was super helpful because I could just pick and choose the dishes I wanted.
Making the choices
- I went for some classics like butter chicken and tikka masala, because who doesn’t love those?
- Then I added some biryani, both vegetable and chicken, to have some rice options.
- Of course, I couldn’t forget the naan and some samosas for appetizers.
But then I thought, “Wait a minute, I have some vegetarian friends coming too.” So, I made sure to include some vegetarian dishes like palak paneer and chana masala. It’s always a good idea to have diverse options to please everyone.
I also found another caterer, “Madras Mantra,” they seemed to specialize in bigger events like weddings and conventions. I figured they’d be able to handle a large order, but I eventually decided to proceed with SHR Catering.
Once I had my menu figured out, I contacted SHR Catering and placed my order. They were pretty helpful in answering all my questions and making sure everything was set for the party day. I made it clear about the delivery time, and they were very understanding.
The day of the party arrived, and I was a bit nervous, hoping the food would be good and everyone would enjoy it. When the delivery arrived, the aroma of the food was simply incredible. It instantly filled the whole place and made everyone’s mouths water.
The food was a total hit! Everyone loved the dishes, and there was plenty to go around. Even my vegetarian friends were raving about the palak paneer and chana masala. It was such a relief to see everyone enjoying the food I had picked out.
Organizing the catering was a bit of work, but seeing how much everyone enjoyed the Indian cuisine made it totally worth it. I definitely learned a lot from this experience, and I’d be much more confident doing it again in the future. If you’re thinking about getting Indian food for your next party, just do your research, compare your options, and don’t be afraid to ask the caterers lots of questions. It’s your party, and you want the food to be just right!
