Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my slow cooker again, and this time I decided to tackle goose breast. I gotta say, it’s a bit different from your usual chicken or beef, but man, it turned out pretty interesting!
First off, I grabbed a couple of goose breasts from the store. I did some research online, just typing in “slow cooker goose breast recipes” into the search bar, to find different ways to cook it. I found lots of stuff about grilling and barbecuing, but I wanted to use my slow cooker. You know, set it and forget it, that kind of thing. I saw some fancy recipes, but I was looking for something simple.

I washed the goose breasts and patted them dry. Then, I rubbed them with some salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic powder. Nothing too crazy, just basic seasoning. I thought about searing them in a pan first, but I was feeling lazy, so I just tossed them straight into the slow cooker.
Next, I chopped up an onion and a few carrots and threw those in too. I figured they’d add some flavor and make a nice little gravy later on. I also added about a cup of chicken broth, just enough to cover the bottom of the cooker. I didn’t want the goose to dry out, you see.
- Washed and dried the goose breasts
- Seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder
- Chopped an onion and carrots
- Added chicken broth to the slow cooker
I set the slow cooker to low and let it do its thing. I think I left it in there for about 6 or 7 hours? I lost track of time, to be honest. I was busy doing other stuff around the house, and the slow cooker just quietly cooked away.
When I finally checked on it, the goose was cooked all right. I took it out and let it rest for a bit. While the goose was resting, I mashed up the cooked vegetables to make some basic gravy. It smelled pretty good, I have to admit.
I sliced up the goose breast and served it with the gravy and some mashed potatoes. I don’t know if it was the fanciest meal, but it was definitely tasty. The goose was tender and juicy, not dry at all. And the gravy had a nice, rich flavor from the onions and carrots.
The Result
The goose breast had that wild game flavor, and it was pretty good. This was my first time making goose in a slow cooker, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ll definitely be trying this again, maybe with some different seasonings or vegetables next time. It’s all about experimenting, right?
And yeah, for all you folks looking for quick dinner ideas, this ain’t it. Slow cooking takes time, but if you’ve got a whole afternoon free, it’s a pretty chill way to cook. Plus, the slow cooker does most of the work for you.

Anyway, that’s my little kitchen adventure for today. Hope you found it at least a bit interesting. If any of you have your own slow cooker goose recipes, let me know. I’m always up for trying something new!
