Okay, so I’ve been trying to be more conscious about the cleaning products I use, especially with little ones running around. I kept seeing Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day stuff pop up, and everyone raves about how “natural” it is. So, I decided to dig into the “mrs meyer’s clean day ingredients” and see what the hype is all about.
My Deep Dive into Mrs. Meyer’s Ingredients
First, I grabbed my trusty bottle of Mrs. Meyer’s multi-surface cleaner – the lavender one, because, why not? I flipped it over, ready to be impressed by a list of flowers and essential oils.

Well, it wasn’t quite that simple. I mean, there were some plant-derived ingredients in there, but also a bunch of stuff I couldn’t pronounce. So, I grabbed my phone and started searching term by term.
It is so complecated, it is not easy for normal people at all.
- “Fragrance”:This is a big one. I learned that “fragrance” can be a catch-all term for a whole bunch of chemicals. Mrs. Meyer’s does say their fragrances are a mix of essential oils and “other ingredients,”but I wish they were more specific.
- Sodium Methyl 2-Sulfolaurate & Disodium 2-Sulfolaurate
:I have no idea what that is! And then start to google it, it sounds complicated.
- Glycerin: Okay, I’ve heard of this one! It’s a moisturizer, often plant-derived, so that seemed fine.
- Citric Acid: This one’s usually from citrus fruits, and it helps with cleaning and adjusting the pH. Makes sense.
- “Other Ingredients” I don’t like this part, why other ingredients?
I spent a good hour just Googling individual ingredients. Honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. Some stuff was clearly plant-based and seemed harmless. Others, not so much. I mean, I’m no chemist, but some of those long chemical names made me raise an eyebrow.
I am not a chemist,I just want my home to be clean, not a lab.

My Conclusion
I think it is a just product, and don’t believe too much about the commerical, that is it.
After all this digging, I’m still a little on the fence. Mrs. Meyer’s is probably better than some of the super harsh chemical cleaners out there, but it’s not as perfectly “natural” as I initially thought.I guess you might want to do a bit of research, too.
