Okay, let’s dive into my little adventure of making beach-themed desserts! I’ve always loved a good theme, and with summer in full swing, I figured, why not bring the beach to my kitchen?
Getting Started: The Ideas
First, I brainstormed. What screams “beach”? Sand, sea, shells, and sunshine, obviously! So, I started thinking about how to turn those elements into edible goodies.

The “Sand”
For the “sand,” I went with a super simple approach. I grabbed some graham crackers and pulsed them in my food processor until they were, well, sandy! You could also use those golden Oreo cookies, just scrape out the filling first.
The “Sea”
The “sea” was a bit trickier. I wanted that beautiful blue, but I didn’t want anything too artificial. Finally I decided to use the blue jello. I mixed up a batch of blue Jell-O, following the package directions. Easy peasy!
Putting It All Together
Here’s where the fun really began:
- “Sand” Cups: I spooned some of the graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of clear plastic cups. Then, I carefully poured in some of the blue Jell-O. To make it extra, I stuck in a little gummy fish or a Swedish Fish.
- Shell Treats:I bought the shells chocolate from the supermarket, and put some in the Jello.
The Final Touch: Presentation
Once everything was set and chilled, I added a few finishing touches. I had some leftover graham cracker crumbs, so I sprinkled those around the cups to make it look like they were sitting on a sandy beach.
And that’s it! My beach-themed desserts were a hit. They were super easy to make, looked adorable, and, most importantly, tasted great! Seriously, who doesn’t love Jell-O and cookies? It’s a win-win!
