Alright, so, I’ve been meaning to organize my kitchen counter for, like, ever. It’s always such a mess, with stuff everywhere, you know? I finally decided to tackle it last weekend, and I gotta say, it was quite the project.
First, I cleared everything off the counter. I mean everything. The toaster, the coffee maker, those random spice jars, all of it. It was kinda shocking to see how much junk I had piled up there. I put them all on my kitchen table and then realized it was also time to clean those as well.

Then, I gave the countertop a good scrub. I’m talking soap, water, the whole nine yards. It felt so good to see it sparkling clean for once.
Next up, I started sorting through all the stuff I’d taken off. I threw away a bunch of old receipts and expired coupons. I also found some things that belonged in other rooms, so I put those away. And I donated some unused small appliances to a friend who needs them.
Now for the fun part – figuring out how to store everything I actually wanted to keep on the counter. I decided I only wanted a few essential items out in the open, like the coffee maker, because, well, coffee is life, right?
Here’s what I did:
- I got a cute little tiered tray to hold my most-used spices and oils. It looks so much better than having them scattered around.
- I used a few small baskets to corral things like tea bags, sugar packets, and those little packets of instant oatmeal.
- I bought a small utensil holder to keep my spatulas and wooden spoons within easy reach.
Finally, I put everything back on the counter, making sure to keep things neat and organized. It’s amazing how much bigger the space feels now that it’s not cluttered with junk.
Honestly, it was a bit of work, but it was so worth it. My kitchen counter looks so much better now, and it’s actually a joy to cook in there again. Plus, I can actually find things when I need them. Who knew?!
