Okay, so I signed up to bring something to the school bake sale. I was thinking, what’s gonna sell, you know? Gotta make that money for the school, right? I figured, let’s go with the classics. Everybody loves a good brownie or a chocolate chip cookie.
First, I pulled out my grandma’s old recipe book. That thing’s a goldmine. I flipped through the pages, saw all sorts of stuff, but I settled on her famous brownie recipe. Super fudgy, always a hit. Then, I also decided to make chocolate chip cookies – the soft and chewy kind, not the crispy ones. Kids love those.

I hit the grocery store, grabbed some butter, eggs, chocolate chips, the usual stuff. I also picked up some cute little bags and ribbons, ’cause presentation matters, you know? Gotta make those treats look appealing.
The next day, I got to baking. I whipped up the brownie batter, poured it into a pan, and popped it in the oven. While those were baking, I started on the cookies. I creamed together the butter and sugar, added the eggs and vanilla, then mixed in the dry ingredients and chocolate chips. Easy peasy.
I scooped out the cookie dough onto baking sheets and baked them until they were golden brown. The whole house smelled amazing, by the way. My kids were hovering around, trying to sneak a taste. I had to shoo them away.
Once everything was cooled, I packaged the brownies and cookies in those cute little bags and tied them with the ribbons. They looked pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. I also made a few rice krispie treats because they’re easy, and kids go crazy for them.

At the bake sale, my stuff was a hit! Everything sold out pretty quickly. We raised a good chunk of change for the school. It was a lot of work, but seeing all those happy faces made it totally worth it.
Oh, and a few parents asked for my brownie recipe. I might just have to start a little baking business on the side, ha!
