Okay, so today I decided to get my bake on and try out some different desserts with frosting. I’ve always loved a good frosted treat, but I wanted to see if I could expand my horizons a bit. Here’s how it went down:
The Planning Stage
First, I needed to figure out what I was going to make. I didn’t want to do anything too crazy, just some simple, classic desserts. I brainstormed a bit and came up with this list:

- Cupcakes
- Sugar Cookies
- Brownies
Seemed like a good variety, and I already had most of the ingredients.
The Baking Process
I started with the cupcakes. I just used a boxed cake mix, because, let’s be real, sometimes you just want to keep things simple. I whipped up the batter, popped them in the oven, and moved on to the cookies.
For the cookies, I used my grandma’s recipe. It’s a pretty standard sugar cookie recipe, but they always turn out so good. I rolled out the dough, used some cookie cutters to make fun shapes, and baked those until they were golden brown.
The brownies were next. Again, I just used a boxed mix. No shame in my game! I mixed everything together, poured it into a pan, and stuck it in the oven.
Frosting Time!
While the everything was baking, also started make frosting.
This is where the fun really began. I made a basic buttercream frosting, dividing it into three bowls.

- I make vanilla with added some food coloring to make it match.
- For the next batch, I melted some chocolate and mixed it in for a rich chocolate frosting.
- Finally, I make cream cheese and it mixed great.
The Results
Once everything was cooled, I got to work frosting. I piped frosting onto the cupcakes, spread it on the cookies, and slathered it on the brownies. It all looked so good!
Of course, I had to taste test everything. And let me tell you, it was all delicious! The cupcakes were moist and fluffy, the cookies were soft and chewy, and the brownies were fudgy and decadent. The different frostings added a nice variety of flavors.
Overall, I’d say my dessert-making adventure was a success! I got to practice my baking skills, try out some new things, and enjoy some delicious treats. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go have another brownie…
