Okay, so, summer is here, and it’s hot as heck outside. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I wanna do is stand over a hot stove all day. That’s why I’ve been all about my slow cooker lately. Seriously, this thing is a lifesaver. I just throw some stuff in, set it, and forget it. Boom! Dinner is done, and my kitchen hasn’t turned into a sauna.
I’ve been experimenting with a bunch of different recipes, and let me tell you, I’ve found some real winners. I wanna share some of my favorites with you guys, so you can stay cool and still enjoy some tasty home-cooked meals.

Sweet Treats
First off, I tried out a Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler. Let’s just say my sweet tooth has been very happy lately. Peaches were on sale at the grocery store, so I grabbed a bunch. I peeled and sliced them up, but you can probably use canned ones if you’re lazy like me sometimes. Threw them in the slow cooker with some sugar, cinnamon, and a little bit of lemon juice. For the topping, I just used a box of yellow cake mix. Yeah, I know, cheating. But hey, it’s summer, who has time for complicated stuff?
- I prepped all the peaches, slicing them up nice and thin.
- Then I tossed them into the slow cooker with the sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Gave it a good stir.
- Sprinkled the cake mix over the top, and then I dotted it with some butter.
- Covered it up and cooked it on low for about 3 hours.
The house smelled amazing while it was cooking. And let me tell you, it tasted even better. Warm, gooey peaches with a sweet, crumbly topping. I scooped some vanilla ice cream on top, and oh boy, it was heaven. I’ve made this a few times now, and it’s always a hit. I even made it when we had guests over, and they couldn’t get enough. So yeah, if you’re looking for an easy summer dessert, this one’s a keeper.
I’ve got a few more recipes I wanna share, so stay tuned! Trust me, your slow cooker is gonna be your best friend this summer.
