Alright, so you know how sometimes you just gotta have a cold drink handy, but you don’t wanna trek all the way to the kitchen fridge? Yeah, that was me a few weeks ago. I decided I needed a beverage fridge, and I wanted it under the counter. Easier said than done, let me tell you.
First thing I did, like any self-respecting person, was hit up the internet. Researched “best under counter beverage fridge” like crazy. There are a TON of options, different sizes, different features, the whole shebang. I was drowning in information pretty quick.

I started making a list of what I actually needed. No point in getting something fancy if I’m just gonna use it for soda and beer, right?
- Size: Had to fit under the counter, obviously. Measured the space like five times just to be sure.
- Capacity: Enough for a decent amount of drinks. Didn’t need a massive one, but enough for a party.
- Temperature Range: Had to get COLD. No lukewarm drinks allowed.
- Price: Budget was a factor. Didn’t wanna break the bank.
After a few days of comparing reviews and specs, I narrowed it down to three. I went to a local appliance store to actually see them in person. Highly recommend doing this if you can. Pictures online don’t always tell the whole story.
The one I ended up going with? It was a middle-of-the-road option, price-wise. Had good reviews, looked decent, and the temperature range was perfect. Dragged that sucker home, and that’s where the fun really started.
Installation was… interesting. The space under my counter wasn’t perfectly square, so I had to do some shimming to get it level. Used a level, naturally. Didn’t want my drinks rolling around inside.
Then came the power. I had to run a new outlet because the existing one was being used for something else. Now, I’m not an electrician, but I can handle basic wiring. Flipped the breaker, tested everything with a multimeter, the whole nine yards. Safety first, people!
Finally, after a solid afternoon of work, the fridge was in place, level, and powered on. Stocked it up with my favorite beverages, cranked the temperature down, and waited. And waited. And waited.
The next day, I cracked open a nice, ice-cold soda. Pure bliss. Now, whenever I’m working in my office, I don’t have to leave my desk to grab a drink, and that’s priceless!

Lessons Learned:
- Measure your space accurately. Seriously, do it multiple times.
- Read reviews carefully, but don’t rely on them completely. Go see the fridge in person if you can.
- Don’t be afraid to DIY, but know your limits. If you’re not comfortable with electrical work, hire a professional.
So yeah, that’s my under counter beverage fridge saga. Was it a pain in the butt? A little. Was it worth it? Absolutely.
