Alright, so, today I’m gonna share how I tackled making my own version of a “Bua Thai Cuisine Menu.” It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot along the way.
First things first, I started by doing some serious research. I mean, I love Thai food, but I needed to see what typical menus looked like, you know? I scoured the internet for examples. I looked at menus from all kinds of Thai restaurants – fancy ones, hole-in-the-wall joints, everything. I paid attention to the categories they used, the descriptions, even the fonts and layouts.

Then, I made a list of all the dishes I wanted to include. This was the fun part! I thought about my favorite Thai dishes – Pad Thai, Green Curry, Tom Yum soup, Mango Sticky Rice… the classics. I also looked at the menus I’d found online and added some of the more unique dishes that caught my eye. I ended up with a pretty long list.
Next up, I organized everything. I grouped the dishes into categories like appetizers, soups, salads, curries, noodle dishes, rice dishes, and desserts. This just helped make the menu easier to navigate. For each dish, I wrote a short description. I tried to make them sound as appealing as possible, highlighting the key ingredients and flavors. I also included a brief explanation of what the dish was, in case anyone wasn’t familiar with it.
After that came the design. Now, I’m no graphic designer, but I wanted the menu to look good. I used a simple design program to create the layout. I chose a font that was easy to read and used some nice photos of Thai food to make it visually appealing. I made sure the prices were clearly visible and that the menu was easy to read overall.
Once I was happy with the design, I printed out a few copies to test it out. I showed it to my friends and family and asked for their feedback. They gave me some helpful suggestions, like adding a section for vegetarian options and making the descriptions a bit more detailed.
I took their feedback and made some final revisions. I tweaked the descriptions, added the vegetarian section, and made a few other small adjustments. Finally, I had a menu that I was really proud of!
It’s not a professional menu by any means, but it’s a fun little project, and it really taught me a lot about menu design and the importance of clear and appealing descriptions. Plus, now I have a custom menu for my next Thai food party!
