Alright, let me tell you about this little adventure I had recently. So, I’ve always been a huge fan of Greek food, and I heard about this place called Mykonos that supposedly had the real deal. I figured, why not give it a shot?
I looked it up and found out it’s this family-owned joint, which is always a good sign. You know, the kind of place where they’ve got recipes passed down for generations. Apparently, there’s this chef, Panagiotis Menardos, who’s like the star of the show, using local stuff to make some fancy Greek dishes. I was already getting hungry just reading about it.

Getting There
First things first, I had to find the place. I heard it’s tucked away in some charming villages, specifically Ornois and Tourlos. So, I started searching, and sure enough, Mykonos Town seemed like the hub for these authentic spots. I decided to head there and see what I could find.
Exploring the Place
Once I got to Mykonos Town, I started wandering around, soaking in the vibe. I checked out a few places, but then I stumbled upon this one called Mortissa. It looked super traditional, the kind of place you’d see in a movie. I walked in, and the atmosphere was just magical, all cozy and inviting.
Trying the Food
Now, for the best part – the food! I ordered a bunch of stuff, wanting to get a taste of everything. I wanted some classic dishes. Oh boy, let me tell you, it was incredible. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and you could tell it was made with love and care. I mean, this was the real deal, authentic Greek cuisine at its finest.
I also heard about a place called Kiki’s Taverna that was supposed to be amazing. But, I was so full and satisfied with Mortissa that I decided to save it for next time.
- Walked into Mortissa, and it felt like stepping into a Greek grandma’s kitchen.
- Ordered a feast. I’m talking about moussaka, souvlaki, and some fresh seafood.
- Ate until I was about to burst. Seriously, it was that good.
- Decided I’ll definitely be back to try more.
So, that’s my little Greek food adventure in Mykonos. If you’re ever in the area and looking for some seriously good eats, you’ve got to check these places out. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
