Okay, so yesterday, I was craving some good Middle Eastern food, right? And I remembered this place called Taboon in Flint that I’d heard good things about. I decided, “Why not? Let’s give it a shot.”
So, I grabbed my keys and drove over to Taboon. First thing I noticed when I walked in was the smell. Oh boy, it smelled amazing! Like spices and grilled meat and all that good stuff. My stomach was already rumbling. I sat down at a table, and a friendly waiter came over with a menu.

Looking at the menu, I was overwhelmed, in a good way! They had all the classics – hummus, falafel, shawarma, kebabs – you name it. They also had some dishes I hadn’t tried before. After hemming and hawing for a bit, I finally decided to order a mixed grill platter so I could try a little bit of everything. And, of course, I got some hummus and pita bread on the side, because, duh, you gotta have hummus.
Waiting For The Food Was Torture!
- But it was totally worth it when it arrived.
- The mixed grill platter was huge, with a variety of lamb and chicken kebabs.
- All that meats were marinated in some different type of herbs.
- It also had kafta, some grilled veggies, and rice.
- Everything looked and smelled so good.
I dug in, and man, oh man, it was delicious. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The hummus was creamy and smooth, just the way I like it. I savored every bite, seriously. I even tried some of their garlic sauce, which was insanely good. Like, I could drink that stuff, no joke.
I ate until I was absolutely stuffed, but I couldn’t stop. It was just too good. By the time I finished, I was in a serious food coma. I paid the bill, which was pretty reasonable, considering how much food I got. Then I waddled out of the restaurant, a very happy and satisfied customer. I’ll definitely be going back to Taboon again soon. Maybe next time I’ll try their shawarma. Or maybe I’ll just get the mixed grill platter again. It was that good!
