Alright, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure to find some good Thai food in Kihei. I’ve been craving some authentic flavors, and a buddy of mine told me Kihei is the place to be for it. So, I hopped in my car and made the drive over.
Scoping Out the Scene
First thing I did was cruise around to see what my options were. I noticed a few spots right off the bat, but I wanted to make sure I picked the right one. You know, gotta get the most bang for your buck, and all that.

Digging for Intel
After driving around for a bit, I pulled over and started doing some research on my phone. I looked up some reviews, checked out menus, and tried to get a feel for the vibe of each place. I narrowed it down to three places that seemed promising.
Making the Rounds
I decided to check out each of the three spots in person. I walked in, took a look around, and chatted with the staff a bit. I wanted to see how busy they were, how clean the place looked, and just generally get a sense of the atmosphere.
- Place #1: It was pretty packed, which is usually a good sign. The menu looked good, but the prices were a bit on the higher side.
- Place #2: This one was a bit quieter, but the staff were super friendly. The menu was a little smaller, but they had some interesting dishes I hadn’t seen before. Prices were reasonable.
- Place #3: This place seemed like a hole-in-the-wall type of joint. The menu was simple, mostly the classic Thai dishes. Prices were definitely the cheapest of the bunch.
Weighing My Options
After visiting all three, I had a tough decision to make. Each place had its pros and cons. Did I want the popular, bustling spot? The friendly, unique place? Or the cheap and cheerful hole-in-the-wall?
The Final Verdict
In the end, I decided to go with Place #2. The friendly service and the unique menu items won me over. Plus, the prices were right in my sweet spot.
Chowing Down
I ordered a few dishes to share with my friend who met me there. We got some Pad See Ew, some Green Curry, and a spicy papaya salad. It all smelled amazing when it came out.
Man, let me tell you, the food was incredible. The flavors were spot on, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. It was definitely the right choice.
So, there you have it. My little adventure to find some killer Thai food in Kihei. If you’re ever in the area and craving some authentic Thai, I highly recommend checking out the spots I mentioned. You won’t be disappointed!
