Hey everybody, so, today I wanted to mess around in the kitchen and try out some crisco cookie recipes. You know, I’ve heard a bunch about using Crisco instead of butter for cookies, and I was curious to see how they’d turn out. So I got out my apron and started looking for some good recipes online. There are seriously tons of them! It’s kinda cool how many different cookies you can make with it.

First, I gotta preheat the oven. Most recipes said 350 degrees Fahrenheit, so that’s what I did. While the oven was heating up, I lined my cookie sheets with parchment paper. I hate when cookies stick, so this is a must for me.

Next, I started mixing. Most recipes want you to cream the Crisco with sugar first, so I grabbed a big bowl and did just that. I used a hand mixer because, honestly, I’m too lazy to do it by hand. I mixed it until it was all light and fluffy, just like the recipes said.

Then, it was time for the other ingredients. I added eggs, vanilla, and all the usual stuff. Each recipe had its own little twist, like adding peanut butter or chocolate chips. I decided to try a few different ones, just for fun. Peanut butter cookies are always my favorite.

Here are some steps I learned:

  • BAKE 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies, or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies.
  • Cool 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
  • Preheat our oven to 350 degrees F and lining your cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Once the dough was ready, I scooped it onto the cookie sheets. I made sure to leave some space between each cookie so they wouldn’t spread into each other. Then, into the oven they went! I kept a close eye on them because I didn’t want them to burn. The baking time varied a bit depending on the recipe and whether I wanted them chewy or crispy. Most took around 10-12 minutes, give or take.

When they were done, I took them out of the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. This is important because it helps them set and not fall apart.

And the result? Not bad at all! Some of them turned out pretty darn tasty. They were definitely different from butter cookies, but in a good way. Crisco does have a bit of a different reputation now. But the cookies were soft and chewy, just how I like them. I even tried a recipe with chocolate chips, and those were a real winner, everyone loved them. Using crisco in baking is really fun. I even tried a peanut butter cookies, which are one of my favorite. They were a huge hit with my family, I’ll definitely be making these again. This is my favorite Crisco chocolate chip cookie recipe!

Overall, it was a fun experiment! I’m glad I gave Crisco cookies a try. If you’re looking for something a little different, give them a shot. You might be surprised at how good they are!
