Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post about making Disney-themed desserts, written in the style you requested:
Alright, so I decided to try my hand at making some Disney-themed desserts. I mean, who doesn’t love Disney? And desserts? It seemed like a no-brainer. I’m no professional baker, just so you know, but I figured, how hard could it be, right?

Getting Started
First things first, I needed some ideas. I scrolled through Pinterest for, like, an hour. There’s SO much stuff out there! I finally settled on a few things that looked relatively simple: Mickey Mouse-shaped cookies, some blue “Frozen” cupcakes, and maybe some “Moana”-inspired fruit skewers.
The Mickey Cookies
The cookies were up first. I found a basic sugar cookie recipe online – nothing fancy. The real trick was the Mickey shape. I had a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter, thankfully, that my kids love, so that part was easy. I rolled out the dough, stamped out the Mickeys, and popped them in the oven.
- Make the cookie dough.
- Get the Mickey Mouse cookie cutter.
- Bake.
They came out pretty good! A little unevenly browned, maybe, but hey, they were recognizable as Mickey. I whipped up some royal icing, and do some simple decorating. Mostly just outlined the ears and added some buttons, used black and red food coloring.
“Frozen” Cupcakes
Next, the “Frozen” cupcakes. I cheated a little and used a boxed cake mix. I know, I know, but I was feeling lazy. I tinted the frosting with blue food coloring – a LOT of blue food coloring – to get that icy, Elsa-approved shade. Then, I sprinkled on some edible glitter, because, sparkles!
The cupcakes were…okay. The blue was a bit intense, honestly. It kind of looked like something you’d find in a science experiment, not a Disney movie. But the kids loved them, so that’s all that matters, I guess.
“Moana” Fruit Skewers
The fruit skewers were the easiest, by far. I just chopped up some pineapple, mango, and kiwi (trying to keep with the tropical theme), and threaded them onto skewers. I added a little orange slice on top to look like the sun. They were bright and colorful, and actually tasted pretty good!
In the end, I think my first try on the desserts turned out pretty fun. The cookies were the definite winners. The cupcakes were a bit of a visual disaster, but edible. And the fruit skewers were a nice, healthy addition. Overall, it was a fun afternoon, and the kids gobbled everything up. Would I do it again? Probably! Maybe next time I’ll try something a little more challenging…or maybe not. We’ll see!
