Okay, so yesterday I was craving something sweet, but I was also feeling super lazy. You know those days? Then I remembered this crazy easy cookie recipe I saw online – Butterfinger Cookies, and get this, only 4 ingredients!
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my phone and double-checked the recipe. Yep, four ingredients. I was still a little skeptical, but hey, worth a shot, right?

I dug around in my pantry and…score! I had everything. Here’s what I pulled out:
- 1 box of yellow cake mix (the cheap kind, nothing fancy)
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- A bunch of fun-size Butterfinger candy bars (I think I used like 8 or 10? I kinda lost count while snacking…)
Mixing it up!
Next, I dumped the cake mix, oil, and eggs into a big bowl.I grabbed a spoon to mix,my electric mixer died sometime ago. I stirred everything together until it was, you know, cookie dough consistency. It looked a little… weird, not gonna lie, but I trusted the process.
Then came the fun part! I unwrapped all those little Butterfingers (and okay, maybe I ate one…or two). I chopped them up into smaller pieces – not too tiny, I still wanted some good chunks of Butterfinger in every bite. Then I folded those chocolatey, peanut buttery bits into the dough.
Baking Time!
I preheated my oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. While that was heating up, I grabbed a cookie sheet and lined with some baking paper. I scooped out spoonfuls of the dough and dropped them onto the baking paper, leaving a little space between each one.
I popped the cookie sheet into the oven and set a timer for about 10 minutes. The recipe said 8-12 minutes, but my oven’s a little… temperamental, so I always keep an eye on things.
The Result
After about 10 minutes, I checked on the cookies. They were all golden brown and puffy, and my kitchen smelled amazing! I pulled them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking paper before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. They were a little soft when they were still warm, but they firmed up as they cooled.
And… they were actually pretty good! Seriously, for four ingredients and practically zero effort, these cookies were a win. They were sweet, a little chewy, and had that awesome Butterfinger crunch. Definitely a good fix for a lazy-day sweet tooth!
