Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my cooking experiments. So, the other day, I was craving some serious comfort food, and what’s more comforting than beef tips and noodles? I decided to dust off my trusty crock pot and give this classic dish a go. Let me tell you, it turned out pretty darn good, even if I do say so myself.
First things first, I gathered my ingredients. I grabbed about 2 lbs of beef stew meat – you can also use sirloin tips if you’re feeling fancy. Then, I diced up a medium onion and minced a few cloves of garlic because, let’s be real, garlic makes everything better. I also made sure I had some beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce on hand.

Next up, I seasoned the beef with some salt, pepper, and whatever other spices I was feeling at the moment. Then, I browned the beef in a pan. Once the beef was nicely browned, I tossed it into the crock pot along with the diced onion and minced garlic.
After that, I poured in about 2 cups of beef broth, a 1/4 cup of soy sauce, and a 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce. I gave everything a good stir, popped the lid on, and let it cook on low for about 6-8 hours. You can also cook it on high for 3-4 hours if you’re in a hurry, but I find that low and slow is the way to go for maximum tenderness.
The Waiting Game
- While the beef was cooking, I spent my time doing whatever I wanted, which is the beauty of a slow cooker.
- About 30 minutes before the beef was done, I boiled some egg noodles according to the package directions.
Now, here’s a little tip I learned the hard way: don’t add the noodles directly to the crock pot unless you want a mushy mess. Noodles cook way faster than beef, so if you throw them in too early, they’ll turn to mush. Trust me on this one.
Once the noodles were cooked and drained, I served the beef mixture over the hot egg noodles. The noodles absorbed some of that delicious sauce, and it was pure heaven. Seriously, this dish is the ultimate comfort food. It’s hearty, it’s flavorful, and it’s perfect for a chilly evening. Plus, it’s super easy to make, even if you’re not the most experienced cook. If you make this crock pot beef tips over noodles, let me know how it turns out!
