Okay, here is my blog post about making desserts with Rice Krispies:
So, the other day I was staring into my pantry, feeling that itch to make something sweet. I spotted a box of Rice Krispies and thought, “Why not?” I mean, everyone loves those classic marshmallow treats, but I wanted to do something a little different. I grabbed the box and started to think about what I could whip up.

First, I melted some butter in a big pot, you know, the usual start for anything with marshmallows. Then, I tossed in a bag of marshmallows and stirred until they were all gooey and melted. It smelled amazing, just like when I was a kid. I took the pot off the heat and poured in the Rice Krispies. Mixing them together was a bit of a workout, but I managed to get it all evenly coated.
Experiment Time
Now, instead of just pressing this into a pan like usual, I wanted to try something new. I remembered seeing some recipes online using Rice Krispies in different ways, so I thought I’d have a go at a couple of ideas.
- Ice Cream Crunch Bars: This was a bit of a wild idea. I took some softened vanilla ice cream and mixed it with some of the Rice Krispie mixture. It was pretty messy, but I managed to spread it out into a pan. I popped that in the freezer to harden up.
- Gooey Marshmallow Wonders: For this one, I made some extra marshmallow mix and folded in some chocolate chips. Then I layered it with the regular Rice Krispie mix in a separate pan. This one was all about that extra marshmallow goodness.
Waiting for these to set was the hardest part! I kept sneaking peeks in the freezer and fridge, hoping they were ready. Finally, after what felt like forever, I pulled them out.
The ice cream bars were a bit tricky to cut, but wow, they were good! Crunchy, creamy, and cold – perfect for a hot day. The gooey marshmallow ones were even better than I expected. The chocolate chips added just the right amount of extra sweetness, and the layers of marshmallow were super satisfying. They were also a sticky mess, but totally worth it.
In the end, I was pretty happy with my Rice Krispie experiment. It was fun to try something different, and the results were delicious. I’ll definitely be playing around with more Rice Krispie recipes in the future. Maybe some peanut butter ones? Or something with fruit? The possibilities are endless! It just goes to show, sometimes the simplest ingredients can make the best treats.
