Oh, honey, let me tell ya about this maple bourbon steak tips. It’s the best thing since sliced bread, I tell ya! My grandpappy used to make it, and now I make it for my grandkids. They just gobble it up!
First off, you gotta get yourself some good steak. I like the sirloin tips, but you can use whatever you got. Cut ’em up into little pieces, like, maybe 3 inches or so. Ain’t no need to be fancy about it. Just make sure they ain’t too big, or they won’t cook right.

Now, the secret to this whole thing is the marinade. We call it maple bourbon cause that’s what’s in it. It’s real simple. Get yourself some bourbon, you know, the drinkin’ kind. Not the cheap stuff, mind you. The good stuff makes all the difference. Then you need some maple syrup. The real kind, not that fake corn syrup stuff. It has to be pure maple syrup to get the right taste.
And you’ll need a little soy sauce. I don’t measure nothin’. Just a splash of this, a splash of that. I’d say, maybe a half a cup of bourbon, half a cup of maple syrup. And then maybe, like, a quarter cup of soy sauce. Just eyeball it, you’ll be fine. Oh, and don’t forget the garlic! Two cloves of garlic, all chopped up real fine. Or, if you’re lazy like me, just smash ’em with the side of your knife.
So, you mix all that goop together – the bourbon, the maple syrup, the soy sauce, and the garlic. That’s your marinade right there. Then you throw your steak pieces in there. You need to let the meat soak for a while. I always do it at least for a few hours in a bowl. Make sure that the steak tips are all covered in that goop.
Now, when you’re ready to cook, you can do it a couple of ways. Sometimes, I like to use my big ol’ skillet. Get that skillet hot, I mean screamin’ hot! Then you throw your steak tips in there. Don’t overcrowd the pan, though. You want ’em to get a nice brown crust, and if there’s too many in there, they’ll just steam.
So you cook ’em for a few minutes on each side, maybe 5-7 minutes. You want ’em to get a nice color. While it is cooking, you can make a glaze. Just mix some more bourbon and honey. I always use honey instead of maple syrup for the glaze. Then, pour the glaze over the steak tips. You want it to get all sticky and yummy. That’s how you know it’s done.
- 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak tips
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
Now, another way to cook ’em is in the oven. You just put your marinated steak tips on a baking sheet. Then you pop ’em in the oven at, like, I don’t know, 400 degrees maybe? Cook ’em for about 10-12 minutes if you like ’em a little pink in the middle. Or 12-15 minutes if you like ’em cooked through. I like mine medium, so I do about 13 minutes.
When they’re done, you just take ’em out and let ’em rest for a minute. Then you can dig in! We like to eat ours with mashed potatoes and some green beans. But you can eat ’em with whatever you like. This maple bourbon steak tips recipe is a winner.

Honestly, this is the best maple bourbon steak tips. The bourbon and the maple syrup, they just go together so good. You get the sweet from the syrup and a little kick from the bourbon. This is some good eatin’. And the garlic, well, that just makes everything better, don’t it?
So there you have it, my recipe for maple bourbon steak tips. It ain’t fancy, but it sure is tasty. Give it a try sometime. You won’t be disappointed, I promise ya! Just remember to use good bourbon and real maple syrup. And don’t be afraid to experiment a little. That’s what cookin’ is all about!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear my grandkids comin’. Time to get supper on the table. And tonight, we’re havin’ maple bourbon steak tips! They’re gonna be so happy!
