Okay, so I’ve always been a huge fan of Einstein Bros. Bagels. Their bagels are just so good! I decided to try and make some of their recipes at home. It was a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
Getting Started
First, I gathered all the ingredients. This was a bit of a challenge because I didn’t have everything on hand. I ran to the store and picked up some flour, yeast, and a few other things I was missing. I felt like I was on a mission, you know? A bagel mission.

Mixing It Up
Next, I started mixing the dough. I followed the recipe I found, but I have to admit, it was a bit tricky. Getting the consistency right was tough. I added a bit more water, then a little more flour. Finally got it right.
The Waiting Game
Then came the waiting. Oh, the waiting! The dough had to rise, and I’m not the most patient person. I kept checking on it every few minutes. I even poked it a few times to see if it was ready. I bet real bakers don’t do that, but I couldn’t help myself.
Boiling and Baking
- After the dough had risen, I shaped it into bagels.
- I boiled them for a minute or two on each side. This is what gives them that chewy texture, apparently.
- Then, I baked them in the oven. The smell was amazing! It filled the whole house.
The Taste Test
Finally, they were done! I took them out of the oven, let them cool a bit, and then sliced one open. I spread some cream cheese on it, took a bite, and… it was pretty good! Not exactly like Einstein Bros., but hey, I made a bagel! I felt so accomplished. It was a fun day.
I think, I will do it again later, maybe tomorrow.
