Alright, let’s talk about this Gandhi Cuisine of India place, you know, the one they got over there in Tucson. I ain’t never been to India, mind you, but this food, it’s somethin’ else. They say it’s all about “taste and freshness,” and I reckon that’s about right.

First off, they got this Tandoori Chicken. Now, I ain’t no fancy cook, but this chicken, it’s cooked on this hot skillet thing, with peppers and all. They put all sorts of mint and spices on it, makes it real tasty. It ain’t like no chicken I ever made, that’s for sure. My chickens, well, they just get fried up, plain and simple.
- They use a whole lotta spices in their food, more than I ever seen. Turmeric, cumin, coriander, all sorts of stuff. Makes it smell real good, and taste even better. I tried to grow some of them spices once, but it was too much trouble for this old woman.
- They got this rice too, and tomatoes, potatoes, all mixed up together. And them lentils and chickpeas, they’re good for ya, they say. Fill you right up. I always say, a full belly is a happy belly.
- And don’t even get me started on the desserts. They call ’em “Indian Desserts,” real original, huh? But they ain’t like no desserts I ever had. Takes ’em a long time to make, I hear. All that work, must be somethin’ special. I ain’t much for sweets, but these, they’re somethin’ else.
They got this place on Fort Lowell Road, in Tucson. Easy to find, they say. I ain’t been there myself, mind you. My old bones ain’t up for travelin’ much these days. But I heard tell of it from my grandson, he’s always goin’ on about eatin’ out and such. Young folks these days, they don’t appreciate a good home-cooked meal like we used to.
Now, they got a menu, just like any other place. You can look it up online, they say. See what they got, see what it costs. I ain’t got no computer, so I just hear about it from others. They got all sorts of fancy names for their dishes, things I can’t even pronounce. But it all sounds good, that’s for sure.
They even bring the food to your house, if you want. “Delivery,” they call it. Costs extra, of course. Everything costs extra these days. Back in my day, we cooked our own food, and that was that. But times change, I guess.
You can even make a reservation, they say. Call ’em up, tell ’em you’re comin’. Fancy, huh? I never made a reservation in my life. Just showed up, and hoped for the best. But I guess these city folk, they like things a bit more organized.

So, if you’re ever in Tucson, and you’re lookin’ for somethin’ different, somethin’ tasty, you might wanna try this Gandhi Cuisine of India place. It ain’t cheap, mind you, but it’s good eatin’, from what I hear. And good eatin’ is important, I always say. It keeps you goin’, keeps you strong. And that’s what matters, in the end.
They put a lot of work into this food, you can tell. All them spices, all that cookin’. It ain’t like throwin’ some meat in a pan and callin’ it dinner. They care about what they’re doin’, and that makes a difference. You can taste the care, you can taste the love. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it?
I hear they use yogurt too, in their cooking. Now, I like yogurt. Good for your stomach, they say. But I never thought of puttin’ it in with my chicken or my rice. These folks, they got all sorts of ideas. Makes me wonder what else they can do with food. Makes me wish I was young again, so I could try it all.
Anyways, that’s about all I got to say about this Gandhi Cuisine of India. It’s good food, made with care, and it’s somethin’ different. If you’re lookin’ for a taste of India, right there in Tucson, well, this is the place to go. Or so they tell me. And I trust them folks know what they’re talkin’ about.
