Goldfish Crackers Colors Ingredients: What You Need to Know

Okay, here’s my post about Goldfish crackers, just like you asked:

So, I was munching on some Goldfish crackers the other day – you know, the little fish-shaped ones – and it got me thinking, what’s actually in these things? I mean, they’re so colorful and tasty, but what makes them that way? I grabbed a bag and started digging in, not just with my mouth but with my brain!

Goldfish Crackers Colors Ingredients: What You Need to Know

A Look at the Bag

First, I took a good look at the ingredients list on the back of the bag. It’s a bunch of words, some I recognized, some I didn’t. It says they’re “Made with Smiles” which is cute, but I was more interested in the actual stuff.

  • Wheat flour– Okay, makes sense, it’s a cracker.
  • Vegetable oils– Alright, that’s probably what makes them crispy.

Breaking it Down

I saw a lot of big words like “niacin,” “thiamin mononitrate,” and “riboflavin.” I’m no scientist, but it sounded like vitamins to me. Turns out, those are different types of B vitamins. Who knew, right? There was also “unbleached enriched wheat flour” at the very beginning. I guess that’s the main thing in these little guys.

Then there were all these colors! How do they get the colors in there? Well, I did a little digging around, like checking out different packages, and they all mentioned paprika, annatto, turmeric, and beet juice concentrate. These make sense as natural coloring agents. It’s pretty cool that they use these natural ingredients to give those little crackers their different hues. I’ve heard that they sometimes use artificial dyes, but I’m glad to see these natural alternatives.

Snack Time!

After all that investigating, I felt like I deserved a treat. I poured myself another handful of Goldfish and enjoyed them, a little bit more informed this time. It’s interesting how much you can learn from just reading a label and doing a bit of digging. Now, whenever I snack on these, I’ll remember all those B vitamins and the natural colors, it’s kind of like a mini science lesson in every bag. But let’s be honest, I’m not just here for the education, they are still some delicious crackers.
