Okay, so I’ve been craving Indian food for, like, weeks now. I kept seeing posts about this place called Desi Tadka, and the pictures looked amazing. So, finally, I decided to check it out.
First, I looked them up online. They had tons of reviews, and people were raving about the Gobi Manchurian and dal makhani, so I made a mental note to try those. It’s located at 3780 Tampa Rd, Oldsmar, so I punched that into my GPS and headed over.

First Impressions
The place looked pretty standard from the outside, nothing fancy. But when I walked in, the smell! Oh my god, the aroma of spices just hit me. It smelled so good. It’s got a casual, diner-like vibe, which I liked.
Digging In
- I started with the Gobi Manchurian, like everyone suggested. It’s basically fried cauliflower in this tangy, spicy sauce. And let me tell you, it lived up to the hype. It was crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of spicy.
- Next up, I ordered the dal makhani. This is a lentil dish that’s cooked for a long time, so it gets all creamy and rich. It was so comforting and delicious. I dipped some naan bread in it, and it was heaven.
- I also tried a couple of other dishes – their website mentioned the restaurant is known for food from the Punjab Province and I figured, why not? They used combinations of spices and herbs I’ve never tasted before.
The Verdict
Guys, this place is legit. The food was incredible, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. They even have Wi-Fi, which is always a plus. If you’re in the Oldsmar area and you’re looking for some authentic Indian food, you HAVE to try Desi Tadka. I’m already planning my next visit!
I left the place feeling stuffed and so satisfied. I think I found my new favorite Indian spot! I snapped a few photos of the food, and I’ll definitely be sharing them on my social media. And who knows, maybe I’ll even try to recreate some of these dishes at home. Wish me luck!
